Sadly twas Firefox. This old laptop only has 4GB RAM and it managed to run to it full.
I already know better than to use Edge.

when allowed to fully load everything the page can take up well over 8 GB of memory. Quick skimming only eats 2 GBā¦ back when it was 2700

Sure, but as it stands the old system of loading individual pages made it lot more digestible for any given set of hardware because it wasnāt trying to keep so much in memory at once!
