I find it difficult to believe that most serious readers (I didn’t say ‘posters’, I said ‘readers’) had this post ‘whoosh’ over their heads, but yeah, apparently some posters did.
One poster keeps attacking me for poor literary skills, poor use of sarcasm, and finally, posting a topic which may be related to another post he hadn’t read. Well, I just tested this post on a reasonably intelligent Eve player I know who hadn’t read the related post. He understood everything I wrote starting from the very first word. I tend to think the main problem people have is poor reading-comprehension ability, but some people could be glossing the post very quickly, not reading the entire thing, and/or finally, some people might not speak English as a first language.
But by your own admission that person is, “[an] EVE player I know”, which automatically makes them a person that knows you vastly better than the majority of forum posters are going to and whom may already known how you feel about this particular topic, even if you have never conducted a discussion about the topic with them, since observations and interactions with you previously could have led to them knowing this about you.
These are not the traits that random readers / posters of a forum will possess, most likely, the vast majority of posters will have had ZERO discussion with you prior and as such not have knowledge of your gripes about EVE, nor are the bulk of posters / readers going to know that you are a sarcastic person and in what ways you express sarcasm.
Finally, randomly tossing out that perhaps, “some people might not speak English as a first language”, when not a single poster shows any substantial difficulty expressing themselves in English is just a poor attempt at a red-herring and goes to the OPs inability to properly defend pretty much any statement the OP makes.
I’ve had my fun, there are other poorly written and poorly defended posts for me to go forth and destroy.
