yes the machine decides if you get one…sry that i have to shoot you out of this saddle…
Setting up binding accounts for people without their permission is Wells Fargo levels of illegal in my county.
–Gadget is just sayin’
@Gadget_Helmsdottir It’s illegal here too.
A credit agreement requires consent on the part of a human being.
Name a credit card company that sends people credit cards without them deciding to apply for it, because that would constitute an illegal action and any credit agreement would be legally invalid.
His conversations are devolving to the level of a certain person, Im tellin ya.
Devolving suggests that they’re getting worse, how is this even possible?
Shall we add credit applications to the long list of stuff that Balos doesn’t understand?
can you point me to a post where you get ■■■■ right ?
I’m beginning to suspect that he’s a masochist, one who gets off on being wrong.
Alternatively he could actually be the egotistical fool he portrays himself to be.
If the latter is the case, and considering the sheer amount of projection he does it may well be, he’s probably not self aware enough to realise it.
Hell, why not both?
I for one welcome our robot overlords…
The sad part here is that some people REALLY seem to belive that a human decides about a credit card approval and not an algorithm calculating your address…
Welcome to the 21st century…
Last time I went in a bank they turned me down before I got to the counter.
Apparently a motorcycle helmet and a sawnoff shotgun arent appropriate creditcard application wear in the 21st century.
Mad Max lied to me.
That’s not your original statement.
Do you think f.e. a human decides if you get a credit card or not ?
Is your original statement, which you posed as a question.
We’ve already agreed that approval is the result of an algorithm, nobody is disputing that. However, this isn’t the entire process, which several people have pointed out to you.
What we’re disputing is your statement that there is no human decision involved in the process of getting a credit card.
In most cases before the algorithm comes in to play, a human being has to apply for a credit card in order to get one. An obvious step in the process which you appear to have completely missed.
“Pre approved” credit cards are no such thing, it’s targeting marketing based on credit score, the credit score being reflected by how much you get gouged on interest and charges; a low score, you’re getting hammered, a high score you’re still getting hammered, but not as much as the poor sods with a low score. Even then, you’re credit checked before approval.
A human still has to apply in order to get one.
If your original statement had been “credit card approval is done by an algorithm and not a person”, there would have been no disagreement at all.
This is the same statement in the moment you read the whole post and not pick out a part of it because only that part supports your reasoning…
But i know that in that case you wouldn’t HAVE a reasoning…
Those two posts do not say the same thing, not even close.
Your initial post was wrong, utterly so. There most definitely being a human decision involved in an application for credit.
Your second attempt was miraculously halfway correct, in that it is an algorithm that does the approval. We even agree with you on that.
However, it is also half incorrect in claiming that some people believe a human does the approval, nobody has made that claim.
If the original and subsequent posts had merely stated that a human being doesn’t approve a credit card you’d have been correct, but they didn’t, ergo you were wrong.
I know English isn’t your native language, IIRC it’s German. I would expect the same treatment if I had posted something that was similarly wrong, using German, in the German language section of the forums,
Unlike you I would have accepted that I was wrong and learnt from it, knowing full well the limitations of my rusty German; despite being fluent in the past I haven’t used it on a daily, or otherwise regular, basis since 1981.
Looks like someone used their free Skillshare promo to become an internet Psychologist.
Actually, am becoming a real life psychologist and neuroscientist.
Also why is there a huge dumb argument about credit cards ITT?
As far as i’m concerned i just used it as an example…what other people make out of it is neither my fault nor my concern…
But this is typical when i post…pieces of my posts are torn out of context just to have an attackpoint against me…
Some people here simply cannot stand the fact that i have my opinion and stay with it regardless what they say and how they threaten me or put me in the trollcorner…
They are totally upset that their bullytactics do not work against me…
Have you considered that the problem might be you?
Stop insisting that your opinion is truth™ or fact™ then.
and how they threaten me or put me in the trollcorner…
You put yourself in the troll corner, and further reinforce the impression that you’re a troll every time you insist that your opinion is truth™ or fact™
Your problem is…
YOU.
