As 2024 wraps up, I was planning to put an update here. But essentially, I found myself saying everything I did in the last update. One slight difference was in the forward looking predictions.
With a stable reliable citadel network, the last 3 months have seen significant increases in business. And as you’d expect, if there’s cargo to move (and the compensation is reasonable), then we’ve been attracting a whole new caliber of new JF pilots. Suffice to say our increased capacity, the timezones where we have excellent coverage and the quicker deliveries even with the increase business have shown the right decisions were made this summer/fall.
And just like the last update, none of this would be possible without all the key people in GHSOL who handle the citadels, diplomacy, advertising, administration and tool creation. Come check us out in channel GHSOL in game and find how how to have your spic…I mean, flow of cargo moved quickly, safely and cheaply to market! You don’t have to compromise!!
PS - Shout out to PushX for taking up the topic of JF gankings in Reddit Reddit - Dive into anything . I very much appreciate their in depth analysis and hope they move more towards making more data available.
Well, I finally got lanced…it’d been a year and a half, so I was taking risks above and beyond what I normally would do. And yes, I both missed obvious signs and wasn’t using a citadel in our network, though our theorycraft has kinda moved beyond simply expanding our citadel network.
At this point we’ve very comfortable with the flow of cargo crossing our citadel network. Additionally this citadel network is redundant at many levels. As always, we’re interested in expanding the citadel network however economics dictate whether it makes sense.
Feel free to contact our diplo if you have an opportunity or just want to help us keep our rates low and continue to server the bottom end of the JF hauling market.
Has anyone else noticed that lancers while used are being held in reserve (or purposefully hidden on zkillmails)? I’ve only seen a handful of cases where they’re brazenly paraded around.
Maybe lancers just are not the badge of honor that they use to be…tarnished by time and not finding a use case (much like BLOPS were 10 years ago…a solution looking for a problem).
Well, we’re at the 2 year anniversary for Lancers appearing on grid for the first time. For my dire predictions from years ago, currently today we’re seeing only Lancers on JF killmails only six times a month in recent times. Even if you double or triple that number for reshipping or killmails that never made it to zkillboard for whatever reason, this still isn’t a big number.
In recent months, high sec ganking by Oracle fleets of JFs picked up alot…the killboards showed this had a bigger impact in terms of number of JFs ganked.
One style of play that has been collateral damage due to Lancers being introduced was low sec bumping at the gate going into high sec. As JF pilots adapted to Lancers, the techniques also made them less likely to be caught by gate bumpers as the JF transitioned from low sec into high sec. I’m not claiming gate bumping never occurs, but this has become far less prevalent compared to 3 or 4 years ago.
So, everything as predicted by reasonable and calm people… JF Pilots adapted, learned new strategies and apply them with great success. Sloppy ones get caught, which is a good thing compared to before lancers, where you simply had close to zero chance to catch a JF in LS.
Seems to me like a great addition to the game, right?
