Nah, they got some new forum moderation rules a couple of months ago. Nicolai has adapted - he hardly ever swears at people nowadays.
Reminds me of a scene in a movie when one guy goes “Johnny has been rehabilitated, he hardly ever kills anyone anymore”

I don’t know. I’m a new player too and my progression hasn’t been hampered the slightest. I’ve been able to do missions, mine, trade, transport, shoot down NPCs and move around pretty easily. It helped that a friend of mine suggested I chose Amarr empire, I wanted to chose Caldari 
I also was able to cross several Trig-controlled systems without being bothered. I looked at my standing and I’m 0.0 for both Trigs and Edencom… go figure.

Sadly, the lack of real in-game engagement that they are capable of participating in has reduced most of the trolls to simple name-calling and blatant insult. They don’t really even pretend anymore to have actual points beyond “high sec is garbage and only my playstyle is valid”.
I suppose when your tantrum has gone on for years you run out of pretend-points to make so it’s to be expected.
At any rate, there’s little point in wishing for an improvement in the overall situation regarding Trig invasions and system flipping. Targeted destruction has always been easier than a broad defense, and the economics of the situation favor Trig system-flippers who risk virtually nothing against the gains to be made.
If a fairly active group of Kybernauts of sufficient size wants a system, they will get it, it’s as simple as that. Yes, it takes organization and effort, not faulting them there, they’re just taking advantage of the tilted playing board that CCP set up.
Better to get your assets out of any system that’s potentially threatened, and adapt to the new normal. If things go downhill too much, CCP will happily screw over the Kybernauts just as fast as they can. And if they don’t go downhill too much, then it’s livable and you can deal with it.
