Autocratic leadership is where one person (in this case you) decides the overall direction of how to accomplish the task in hand and maintains that control of the whole process.
Delegative leadership aspects are handing out specific sections of said task or sub tasks to allow you to maintain focus and control of the overall direction in accomplishing the goal.
They are two of the many leadership styles .
In contrast I’ve moved on from autocratic to a more Laissez-faire style with elements of Coaching leadership mixed in. Basically deciding what task is to be accomplished but allowing a more free approach to how contributors play their part In doing so and building their confidence in the part they play while also presenting opportunity to play other parts .
Not to insult you… i am interested in hearing about how you run a corp. But can you see why my warcraft guild would always have better players in it by its culture? My guild would just be better on the charts and yours would be… for atmosphere and fun only. You guys would have a certain atmosphere and culture that you prefer to play in. Thats the thing about me and other people who play a little sweaty… we enjoy being serious. We enjoy being in the moment. I like chaos and it feels good to bad things. That IS our culture. It is our atmosphere and fun. The guys who have worked with me know that they will lie, cheat and steal and be celebrated for it. There is no other way.
Let me give direct EvE Credit where its due as an example. The coolest thing about Goons is that at least back in the day… anyone claiming to be goons who would get you in the alliance IF you contract your things you need moved to nullsec to the alliance freighter department… That is the first thing I respected about goons members.
Oh I do understand is a parallel to workplace culture and plays an important role in defining and choosing the leadership style.
Seeking excellence in your case implies that an autocratic approach would be the best option especially if there are time constraints in completing the goal at hand.
“Better players” can translate to “experienced players” and that leadership style leave little room for free style or explorative leadership approaches and instead seeks to bank I. The experience of all the players in the guild to know their part and the plan and to simply get to it .
Edit - busy day and all but I must say this style of conversation is much more enjoyable. Have a good day
