You’re trying to complain about something that is only an issue because you don’t know how to fly the ship, and throwing a fit because no one is agreeing with you.
Don’t fly the ship if you don’t know how to fly it!!!
It’s a common scenario with people who buy their way into advanced hulls, and lose them because they don’t know how to fly them. Start at the frigate sized Edencom ship and work your way up.
You did know there’s a whole line of them, right?
There’s a lot of people who do know how to fly it, and they enjoy doing so.
Sorry buddy but im going to have to ignore your discussion moving forward.,.. you are simply a troll that like to pull away from the topic and put words in my mouth… good luck with that
Well, he is right and you are wrong. You obviously don’t see that the enormeous damage potential of these EDENCOM ships need to have a serious drawback to counterbalance them. And that is their inability to fight back at close range, or at least have some part of their damage reflected onto themselves if they do.
A good Thunderchild squad can absolutely wreck havoc to an opposing fleet by simply making everyone broadcast for reps at the same time and driving the enemy logistics wing insane. Now combine good warpins with tactical safespots on grid, with mobile warpins given by interceptors and booshers for emergency repositioning and you have a hell of a tool in your hands.
Giving them immunity to their own weapons or some kinds of focusing-doomsday and whatnot would make those ships game breaking OP. These ships don’t need buffs, they need competent FCs and pilots.
Another weakness: If the enemy fleet has competent leaders, everyone will spread out which will nullify the EDENCOM ships’ firepower. They’re only effective if the enemy cooperates with them.
Use a Marauder or a Khizriel or any of the ships that hit single target at 100km. Winning. There’s no need to blitz anything down in an EDENCOM ship.
Sure, but this burns the versatility of the ship. Unless, that is, i need to rethink the purpose of this ship, which, from what i am discovering, is a fleet assist ship and not a stand-alone fighter . Of course i dont see eagles manticores running abyssals. Ikm not advocating that all ships should do all things. But, im definitely attempting to understand the ship. And of course i find the ship fascinating, and thats why im inquiring at all…
I’ma level with you, you’re not getting the anchor-up, projectors-on, brain-off ezmode upgrade that you’re looking for - it just isn’t going to happen. The self-damage isn’t some incidental effect that they overlooked during dev, it’s a very intentional weakness of the platform.
fair enough. if it is a balance mechanic, then so be it.. This ship is far from easy mode though ( lik i would argue some other ships are.. its a splash damage unit… kind of like the archon if you played starcraft. You dont shove the splash damage into the frey, rather back behind a layer of brawlers that would most likely be tanked specificly to aborb electric em/.kinetic damage
