Today I decided not to play

What a load of nonsense. You were the one who came on bragging about your gazillion EHP mega-ship…and that nobody could gank you. Nobody forced you into this diatribe…you freely bragged about it all. You kept wanting Aiko and others to care about it, and I think you just didn’t like that nobody does.

That’s because after posting my fit you and aiko kept challenging me telling me all about how easily those ships would get destroyed. You all would not let it go so yeah. I finally said to come show me. Go to zkillboard. You’re always telling others to. Freighters with my fits don’t go boom. I checked. You kept telling me to. So why does it piss you off when I take your advice and fit my ship correctly?

Flatlined numbers mean little in the context of how interesting a game is.

While games with big hypes around expansions and big drop offs until the next expansion are more spiky, a flatlined number just means the same amount of people leave the game as new ones enter. Without any indication of how many people are coming and leaving. It could be zero and everyone stays. It could be all of them, replaced every month… except then I’d expect bigger fluctuations.

A flatlined number just says the game population is stable. Not that it is boring.

However, it sounds like it is boring for you. Why are you here if you’re currently not interested in the game?

I tend to take a break from games I get bored with, which to me sounds like a healthier way to approach my hobbies.

This has to be the funniest thing Gloria has ever posted. All the forum posts to defend THIS playstyle, of all things?

Like CCP should just look at this person and do the diametric opposite of what they say. Sitting in Jita all day camping. Honestly nuts. Imagine CCP putting that in their flashy Youtube adverts - ‘I was sick of being hunted, so instead I sit outside one station all day camping people.’

Yep! In a 0.9 system so that no one can ever camp her!

I think your shtick should be flying the combat probe faction frigate that you find most motivating and killing ugly exploration frigates. You will be a whole new pilot by the time you get your first kill. Do you want to meet the future you?

Divinity has nothing to do with it. I stated I was comparing 2 growth charts. While Eve is somewhere in between 255 to 265 on the list, CS2 happens to be number 1, the game. The comparison I made has nothing to do with numbers but the line graphs. While Eve appears flat, it does show minor growth. I also explained the fact that growth of the other game is due to servers, investment capital, and more positive revenues. Not too bad, considering Eve started out running on a dial up modem, that didn’t run 24/7 in the beginning.

Hey..i don’t need lectures from someone who’s gotten 14 kills in 12 years. Keep that up and you’ll beat Glenduil.

Really? I watched eve’s numbers grow when it was interesting. How do you explain that?

:rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

I’ll give you that.

Because I intend to come back and hit the ground running instead of asking what happened in the last 10 yrs.

So, I took your advice and your bitching at me for that?  :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

@Gerard_Amatin I’ve also given away over 100 bil on the forums trying to promote the game to new players who at least showed some kind understanding of the game or at least had a good sense of humor about it.

I could go but it’s not worth explaining to those who are happy with the status quo. Maybe one day you will figure it out…

Freelance Jobs is like having corp members who have similar interests yet don’t have to deal with wars etc and just complete the tasks that making logging on fun again.

I said ‘take a break from the game’ if you are bored.

You’re bored with EVE, yet you are still here. How do you explain that as ‘taking my advice’?

Taking a break from the game in this case means you also don’t follow the social media and forum posts about it. Just take a break. While you’re around here you are still thinking and talking about how you are bored with EVE, that’s not a break.

No good player leaves eve. We have countless returns of old players. Whether they stay again is another matter. I’m just taking a break from playing. I’m on the forums to stay up to date. To piss and moan about what was a growing niche game turned into a stagnant money pit for new players. Hardly a reason to stay. I found the game much more rewarding when there were more players. More targets. But also, more friends. I miss being part of a tight knit group. And please don’t try to tell me there plenty of them out there. Thers only a few.

I did take your advice. I did stop playing. Alpha, which I now am on another acct is not playing the game, just abusing it.

I just did not stop caring.

Moaning on the forums is part of still not taking a break from the game.

Why not take my advice and take break from the game (i.e. including the forums)?

You might feel a refreshed urge to get back to the EVE universe in a while.

In my opinion, taking a break from logging into the game while staying active in the forums actually allows you to stay informed of changes done to the game..

In my experience sticking around talking and reading about the game is nearly as much being involved with the game as playing it is, except without the fun part. If you’ve stopped playing because of boredom it’s a negative spiral to stick around and keep fueling your idea that the game is boring.

Staying around to keep informed is not a bad idea if you’re currently unable to play and want to stay informed. But if you are currently are bored with the game and your goal is to eventually have fun again and get over the feeling of boredom, I find a complete mental break from the game works much better.

Take a break from the entire game including forums in that case.

Guess I should have been more specific, in my opinion checking in on the forums a few times a week while not logging into the game helps to stay informed of any changes in the game which may spark interest to log back in…

Whereas staying active 24/7 in the forums while not logging into the game doesn’t really help alleviate boredom… More likely it only helps fuel resentment and disappointment, especially when specific desired changes are not implemented…

Anyway, whether it’s staying active in the forums and not logging into the game or boycotting everything Eve related while on a break is entirely up to the player… Now if either option helps them to eventually log back into the game, then it’s a good thing…

Why should I do That? Why is my opinion not worth posting? I have just as much right to post what I think about the game as you do. Just block me if you can’t handle the heat.
