It seems like the devs are messing with Jita. it’s no longer Caldari sovereignty, but Caldari still collects taxes in Jita 4-4. Trade embassies have appeared, whatever that means, and EverMore is now in charge of system policing. So it looks like they’re trying to make Jita a neutral hub, which is good. The issue they seem to trying to fix with this convoluted approach is that Faction Warfare (FW) players can’t easily access Jita due to being war decced. However this doesent really fix it.
A actual fix: remove war declarations from FW entirely—they’re unnecessary since FW happens in lowsec. Instead, warping to FW sites could give a suspect timer. That would also stop seagulling and awoxing.
Some minor tweaks to FW and Insurgency content would be needed, but overall it’d be a cleaner solution: Jita or any other trade hub becomes accessible to every non criminal in FW, and awoxing/seagulling are finally dealt with for good. Peace
No, the issue they’re fixing is foreign militia members being shot by Caldari FacPo.
If they want to prevent FW in Jita, they’d have to implement some kind of armistice mechanic in the system, enforced by CONCORD. They won’t remove the wardec. If they did, FW participants would take sec status loss, even in lowsec.
Getting shot by faction police while traveling to and from Jita isn’t a big deal. The real problem with joining Faction Warfare is the wardec you automatically inherit. It basically turns high-sec into low-sec for you.
It’s a pretty dumb design for content that’s supposed to be mainstream.
The war decs between militias makes high sec unsafe for both sides. For example, the route between Jita and Onnamon — supposedly Caldari space — gets camped by Gallente, and even Jita trade hub has Gallente camps of various kinds. But let’s pretend high sec becoming low sec when you join FW is good design and not something that turns almost everyone away from it.
You do know you don’t have to take your main character to Jita right?
There’s other markets, there’s corps which haul, there’s corps and alliances who provide logistic services so that the ships you need are on contract in the systems you need them in, and failing all that you can always have a shopping alt who isn’t in facwar.
