Why do that when you can fleet warp?

To confuse bot-detection.
My point was just what I said.
Bots can also emulate players warping individually in a staggered fashion.
See what I mean?

Sure I can see that. I don’t think there’s actual bot detection though. I think they rely 100% on player reports.

Let’s be realistic, there is (soon) no way detecting bots anymore, if they try simulating human behavior to some extend. The only way to battle is to reduce the number of unfun activities, and make things not easy to bot by design like Incursions. This will also help with the multiple accounts issue.

Not sure whether CCP has realized that yet… of course it’s more effort and difficult to push through than 2 non-dev guys chasing bots via scanning the logs.

I know fleetwarp, but I can tell when everything else is synchronized too. Do you want to tell me there is no input broadcasting or what is your angle here?

No I’m saying that you can’t accurately tell the difference between fleet warping and using input broadcasting to warp.

I don’t do it because I no longer play in corps and no longer play in LS / NS except for few occasions here and there, some misc explo / pve and rare time I switch to my alt when my old mates come on.

So its not circular, in my case its just not applicable. For the most part I just chill in HS in NPC corps nowadays. I no longer require that level of gameplay.

Cap alt - drained as much as I could and its perma retired. ■■■■ caps, ■■■■ cap alts, ■■■■ NS.
Mining Alts - same both of em
Hauling alt - partially drained, have just enough levt to move my own crap around if need be
Cyno Alt - converted into cyno / cloaky scout / scanning alt, might train him into ECMs or Damps.
Marketing / PvE alt - became my main, pumped the SPs from above into it for full on PVE-ness.
My PvP main - nothing, it just sits docked up now collecting dust for most part. I can’t even fly it through all of HS cause of standings, and I have no intentions to grind or invest into fixing that.

This is what I assumed. Even before this thread, I refused to multibox.

Why would anyone play a game with zero realism, an even more horrible UI, bloody awkward controls…?

In my prime time I had a rule: Do not play using alts, instead always play with people.

It always worked. I never had a problem finding people to do something with, or who helped me doing something, including manufacturing and delivering of goods. I still value my time enough not to work in this game, at all. And yes, anything that is done with the primary goal of making isk is functionally not different from doing a job.

That’s why I refuse to do any activities, even with others, where ISK is the primary motive. Accumulation of wealth, fake or otherwise, has nothing to do with fun. Those who claim that it is fun for them should ask a professional what he has to say about that.

The game is fine. People are broken.

What changed?

People are broken. That changed. When I am more and more surrounded with people who only care about making ISK, then there are less and less people around who just play for the sake of playing.

I actually still stick to my rule, but I have tried it out once and did it a second time for research.:

Finding a way of safely mining in a fleet in high yield ships/fittings, no matter where. Having my own personal mining fleet was fun for a while, but I stopped, because I have achieved what I wanted to achieve.

I still prefer not having alts as help/support. The game is more fun this way, plus: Restrictions make things more interesting. Playing with alts makes it far too easy. I guess that says a lot about most people out there.

People got too space-rich.

As is known from IRL, the rich are the most adverse to risk.

This is one part of the reason why people are broken. I use people very generic here, knowing that there are different subgroups of people within subgroups of people, who also are people.

What a fun sentence that was.

I agree that “too much” wealth breaks players, and breaks EVE.

I very much like your idea of one additional Alpha account to run with a main. In addition to scouting, being able to fly a logistics ship in support of your main pvp, pve ship would be useful.

If you want another account to fly, sub/PLEX it.

Last thing we need is forcing all Omegas to fly Omega+Alpha Alt to remain viable, or Alphas having to face an Omega+ Alpha Alt.

What you are suggesting is a massive power-creep in the worst possible way.

Yep.

Just like a person’s first beer leads eventually to heroin addiction.
Quite linear. :expressionless:

You may believe multi-boxing adds to more freedom in your game-play, but it doesn’t. It’s a ball-chain, which you constantly try to drag around only so it’s making enough ISK for you. Eventually you sell most of the chars before it turns you into a hermit with no friends but his many accounts.

Well, I wouldn’t go that far. Personally I started drinking when I was 6 and it was vodka not beer, fully blown alcy by 27, and currently sober for about 2 decades.

And its not the same for everyone. Different people do take different paths. Like I said, for me coming to that boundary point of multi-boxing / semi botting caused me to basically quit the game for a long time because its not what I wanted to do. What really did it was the realization of the scope and scale of it.

People can debate and argue with me, but I am firmly convinced that without going down this route and bots, none of the big NS entities would be what they are today. Not even remotely close. And here CCP seems to trying to herd people out to NS to join those entities, and for what ? to start going down this path ?
