Training Booster Megathread

A service made specifically for whales? Sure, that’s pretty obvious. But P2W? What are you “winning,” exactly? Cutting down the time it takes to train up to L5 in a few skills? What advantage exactly does it give to a new player who doesn’t already have an idea on what they want to do? What advantage does it give to a player that doesn’t have the funds to outfit a ship with that 1.5m SP provided for the skills they need?

It’s an option to cut a huge corner with and to cut down on the time it takes to train. It would be P2W if it also gave you a PLEX along with it to buy the ship(s) you wanted to outfit. The only advantage I can see out of it right now is that a player with an extra 1.5m SP can get the skills they need trained to fly a T2-outfitted Battlecruiser. So what? They probably won’t have the ISK for it unless they also bought a PLEX.

Money > PLEX > Skill injectors.

Now we can just skip the PLEX part. Not a big deal. It just simplified an already existent transaction.

Sit down and have a talk with CCP: “Back in my day… four score and seven years ago…”

Make them realize the error of their ways and recant! Recant! And make them withdraw all these packs. They’ve got other less P2W ways of earning revenue from MTX. We’ve got a solid thread running with at least three solid proposals on how CCP could better MTX masks and apparel (including bras per @Salt_Foambreaker) they should examine. Low-hanging MTX fruit.

You might as well ask them to eliminate Skill Injectors. Good luck, Archer.

Times were better when radios were wooden furniture, too! Dang nabbit!

You are late to the party. This has been done before. However, I agree this is a dick move by CCP and one of the many promises broken.

I mean, people keep giving them money.

So why stop?

I’ve been around long enough to remember a time when a thread like this would be full of anger instead of justifications.

This is what post-post-modernism looks like. Apathy and memes.

From the point of view of CCP I would also not stop cashing in. As a company they have tainted themselves as promise breakers and have become untrustworthy which might chase paying customers away.

All the people that made those promises are gone, so do they even count?

The promises were made by CCP. It doesn’t matter which individual employee made them.

There are people now playing that have never seen a game without micro-transactions. I feel so old.

If “chasing away paying customers” mean “some short-term disfavor on the forums and reddit, then return back to a loyal paying customer base”, then sure.

It has been 20 years since Y2K? What??

I would have to become really dumb to buy such thing. Its double the price of SP that u can get in game for sub. And you get rid of all the time u could spend playing. Only losing money. Loss - loss scenario.
