Agree with you it s just a game but when you pay for a service you expect it to be working .On the other hand people bitching at CCP …if you are not able to do better than CCP to solve problem just STFU .If you can then just unsub and create your own game to attract Eve’s player.

Yet every other subscription MMO not got that mass amount of connectivity isssues while in general costing $2/2€ less compared to EVE’s monthly fee…sure the whining is blown out of porpotion by now but not completely wrong

Oh yeah right, before CCP switched the chat system we didn’t have the constant DDoS attacks happening like it’s been for the past couple of years. And back then when there was an attack, the chat system didn’t go on the blitz like this new system does.
Go downtime right now and fix it… couldnt login yesterday, same problem today.
It’s not like this is a surprising new thing, it happens like every other week. And at this point they really had years to look for a solution.
But if all they risk is a shrug with the shoulders and the customers just have to eat the loss (omega was payed already and will not be compensated), they are hardy motivated to invest into an actual solution to this constantly appearing problem.

I seem to remember reading that the previous Ddos attack may have been aimed at Amazon and hit Eve online as a by-product via the chat channels, which are now hosted remotely on an Amazon server. If this is the case then maybe it’s time for CCP to revert to running chat from their own servers.
