While it is true that different players disagree on whether CCP should prioritize new content vs improving/providing-drop-in-replacements-for-stale existing content, one thing is objectively true: it has been many years since CCP has had an expansion dedicated toward playing “catch up” with improving the quality of existing content; I personally believe that EVE would benefit greatly if CCP released another such expansion.

One issue that many games have stated, although not in such bald terms, is that “bug fixes don’t sell”. Meaning you can bug fix everything in the game and it will result in very few new dollars coming in.

However, as stated by you and others, Crucible was very well received. And let’s face it, while EVE has lost a lot of players over the years to poor game design, they’ve also lost a lot of players who’ve simply lost faith in CCP as a developer looking out for their playerbase. The “we’re not in touch, we don’t care, we’re just in it for you money” perception has only grown stronger over the years.

If CCP committed to one “good housekeeping” update per year, that would go a long way towards re-establishing some additional good faith among many players. They could maybe alternate years, one year is a list of bug-fixes and some QoL goodies, and the alternate year a balance pass and some QoL goodies.

They could do a “sell more subs” release in the last quarter, and a “get the new year off to a good start” improvements release in the first quarter. Should keep spirits positive while also generating more sales.

I think 1 yr is not enough time for CCP. Maybe 5?

Usually the problem with CCP is that every new game mechanic or addition leads to at least 2-4 additional versions of the build to correct egregious faults/bugs or introduces gameplay with new loopholes or unforeseen (by CCP) problems that certain players/corps take advantage of and cause even more issues.

Hell no, we don’t need anymore Trig ships. CCP can’t even balance the ones we have, and EDENCOM ships are so far beyond useless that you never actually see one in game. Fix those before you add yet even more ships.

You couldn’t be more correct on this. Running abyssal sites all day everyday has no effect on standings against triglavians but to farm these drops you have to ruin your standings. Its actually ridiculous. And anything level 3 or lower in abyssal sites should just spit you out empty instead of losing your ship if the time runs out.
