Bots are not afk. They are bots Don’t confuse the two.
You should compensate the PVE players will have a task that they never did before with an automatic Dscan as that takes time to press the Dscan key as well to protect yourself from PVP players,
There are certainly changes that make me wonder what the hell is going on in the CCP offices
In this game we are supposed to have fun and enjoy ourselves but it is becoming a full time job every time that make stupid change .

This same kind of analogy popped out before, but unfortunately it’s wrong.
You won’t have to keep telling your drones to attack a target every few seconds, because they only fire their guns once per command.
As long as you command them to attack, they will attack a target until it’s dead, very much like putting mining drones on an asteroid will make them mine it until it’s depleted.
Now, let’s take a look at another hypothetical scenario.
Let’s suppose mining drones behaved like combat drones, and would go around mining each asteroid in a belt that’s in the drone control range, while mining lasers would still require targetting a rock and activating each module.
Don’t you think that people would abuse it to hell and back, and use 10 Orcas on every belt in a system to mine everything while AFK, simply because it’s more convenient than using a barge/exhumer?
Using Orcas is already more convenient and AFKable than proper mining ships, but if the convenience and AFKability was made even better, you’d probably be seeing many more Orcas sitting at belts then you already do.
Of course, people would be able to come and shoot their drones to hamper their progress, making it impossible to fully AFK for hours on end, but having to check your characters every ten minutes or so to see if everything is alright isn’t exactly a hard task.

Small changes I can deal with, but this change literally breaks the usefulness of a lot of characters people have spent time and money to make.
And the “targeted nerfs” are thus:
They broke the minerals, they added ess’s nobody wanted, and now they are nerfing drone boats. So ya, it is targeted I guess, against people who’s crime is enjoying the game in null sec.
They reverted bad changes to minerals from 5 years ago, Which was required to fix the mineral glut
A lot of people have wanted something like this. Even in this thread a lot of people have suggested NPCs using bounty tags instead of bounties which is basically what the ESS does.
So no, it’s nothing about ruining fun, it’s about fixing out of balance issues.

They have overdone the changes to minerals.
I mean the actual contents of ore arent the issue here. The issue is that It almost impossible now to mine in some nullsec regions apart from moonmining which also has been nerfed drastically.
The ESS itself I personally do like even if I am a halftime crab. The problem here are all the other nerfs to ratting on top of it. There is next to no incentive to rat anymore. Now with the drone changes it makes already boring and nerfed content even more of a chore.
Personally I am still waiting for a nerf to afk cloaky camping now that everything else has been devaluad.

My problem is the ess’s invite people from everywhere…mostly professional hi-sec carebears who lose paladins to npcs in a .5 system… to roam all over sovereign space to make a quick buck. I can deal with nuets, don’t mean I like them, and ccp rang the dinnerbell.
Thats actually not an issue for me. I even set up Battleships for ESS defence in order to Brawl or snipe them to death.
It can be annoying when you plan your time to be for generating ISK in order to be able to afford PvP ships and at some times I really hate that, Nevertheless I dont see the ESS as a bad change per se. Its more the multitude of nerfs where I have to ask myself if its even worth doing anymore.
Why wouldn’t this additionally apply to Mining Drones on the Orca, Rorqual or Porpoise?

I like to keep busy shooting, looting & salvaging while I manage my drones (and their sometimes erratic AI).
Mind over twitch , please, most of us aren’t teens anymore - and there are enough mindless action games out there already.
