What your missing is, nothing about ratting is a decent income. Even with a 100% floor, that’s only 60m/hour in a ratting Ishtar.
Significantly less than you can make in high sec doing Abyssals, Burners, Incursions or normal L4s.
That’s what you high sec carebears cannot grasp, the juicy bit about ratting was super ratting, even with the BRM floor change super ratting cannot return as the blocker there is the anom respawn nerf which isn’t being reverted and was entirely separate from BRM/ESS.
You high sec moaners should actually try null sec, you’d look back on your comments and cringe if you understood the reality that the carrots are non-existent in null right now. You have the most destruction taking place in null, you will lose ships often, but not much in terms of ways to make back what you lost. High sec on the other hand has a very small risk of being ganked, beyond that you can hyper inflate your wealth which is just broken.
Would you support a buff to ganking?
We can’t. You guys have claimed it all. Or do you mean just touristing? We do that all the time. You guys seem to all hate it when we do that.
I’d prefer a different design:
- Massively reduce high sec in size
- Switch the rewarding content from high to low, null and wormhole space e.g. Burners, Incursions, Abyssals, all moon mining etc.
Then you don’t need to buff ganking as players will be incentivised to graduate to more risky areas of the game where you’ll be able to freely whelp them as it’s pvp enabled space. As a by-product, I see more pvp activity in null - which has been drying up for the last few years. Win-win.
High sec then becomes a true newbie zone, but because all the carrots are gone, that’s not a problem, no need for ganking to regulate anything anymore.
You can’t have the juicy carrots without the risk, it breaks things 
You could join almost any alliance from Goons, Init, Pan Horde, Brave etc heck even Pandemic Legion and NC. have corps that take players without a vouch nowadays. There is literally nothing stopping you and I’d wager you’d love it!
