Version 19.05 - Known Issues

give me a reference point, to where its stated… because out of my own curiousity, I dug through some old lore articles and couldn’t find any reference to a ‘massive impact’ from large gates near planets. I have yet to check my copy of EVE Source yet though.

You might want to check my post again before you continue to refer to actually outdated information. I have updated it with more gameplay relevant reasons why B/C/R gates should not be close to a planet. I think that’s something CCP can understand easier than the lore as it is related to actual gameplay and not just background story information. As it stands, CCP just throws tried and proven gameplay design principles of EVE out of the window again for no good reason and without making anything better by doing that.

alright, I’ll bite on your exact statement. So… let’s look at our main article, heavily outdated as it is, that exists in regard to FTL travel, shall we? Interstellar Traveling, this article was written in the very early days of EVE lore and hosts a number of depricated references and statements… but alright we’ll check it… no… massive impact on planets…

alright, so you want to argue from a gameplay perspective now… the point is moot, as you can anchor a structure on the gate as ‘eyes’ and easy scan point to sit on, if you’re the camper… or… ya know, just… sit on gate waiting to murder anyone that comes through as most gate camps do anyway, with a scout watching for incoming from the other side to call out priority. the ‘hard to scan people’ bit is a solved problem onee way, or the other so… isn’t a great argument to use.

That requires you to anchor the structure in the first place. There is nothing moot about making the gate harder to check for people passint through the system.

Well, guess what is easier to do if the gate is not on a planet? Exactly, camping it. People need to have pings or warp to structures and can’t just go to a moon around the planet to dscan the gate. You just proved my point. All the things you mentioned require more effort simply because the gate is not in a easily accessible and checkable. That is the whole point of these special gate connections. Thank you.

CCP threw that very important aspect of these special gates out of the window. An aspect that the old CCP developers carefully introduced to have more particular and

Also… may I offer… constellation gate from Josmaert to Unour constellation, between Vivanier and Algasienan, to you.

No, those are system gates.

its a constellation gate honey. Algasienan is Unour constellation, and Vivanier is Josmaert. If your response is ‘that doesn’t make sense’ or ‘its wrong’, then… the problem may not be the game or game designers, and more your perception of what you think it should be.

Edit: Hm. Alright, so the description says it IS a system gate. but it is a cross constellation connection… so interesting that, wouldn’t you say?

No, not at all. Because Vivanier and Algasienan are both Josmaert.

This is a constellation gate (between Ambeke and Olettiers):

Check the Archavoinet gate, though. That system is in Pegeler constellation. The gate should also be in a random spot far away from a celestial – as all B/C/R gates should be for good gameplay reasons.

That’s actually interesting, because about six months ago, Algasienan was Unour in the database when I was looking. Perhaps there was a screw up in the database around that time. For now, I do concede this point.

Still, you have not given a lore reference for your… rather specific take on things from where you started, and had to swap to a gameplay reasoning that is still fairly moot. If you could provide me that lore reference you used as your starting point, it would be quite pleasant of you.

If you think I’m nitpicking you, its because I am. You made a claim, can’t seem to back it up, so changed your claim to a different supporting basis. Nitpick gets nitpicked back.

Interesting. It IS in the patch notes along with the other places it isn’t allowed, tho:

“Disallowed in: Wormhole, Pochven, Abyssal Space”
“Restricted to Security systems below: 0.5”

And still no mention of these ‘Known’ Market bugs which have been active for way too long, some of them for well over a year now. Also there’s a Bug with the Contracts Window when searching for a specific item. It won’t find and/or display the specific item that’s been entered into the search option.

This ? Reported on sisi 9 days ago, and had the feeling they wouldn’t care reading or act on it. Clearly they didn’t tested it themselves (you can’t miss it if you try it) and they just don’t care about quality.
It is not acknowledged as a bug yet, as per the “Known issues” in the original post.

Now the reactivation delay for T1 nulli is 100s, named ones 130s, T2 150.
These changes were not in the patch notes.

That makes no sense. Why would the T1 have the best cooldown and the T2 the worst? This cooldown makes the T2 just as useless as the T2 warpcore stabs before the changes.

In addition to that: The Nullifier still has the Drone Bandwidth reduction which was never mentioned anywhere and simply just existed without any explanation about why it is necessary. It was only announced for the WCS where it is perfectly reasonable.

im reasonably sure this is a bug. Right? please tell me its not intentional

The “Exterior View Disabled” UI message reappears every time jumping a gate,
even if the 20 seconds have already passed

At various times this message will pop-up on my screen:

You can’t do that while warping

Usually that message, or some variation, will pop on-screen a few times within a dozen warps or so. Strange thing is I’m not trying to do anything else when it shows up.

  • obviously do else you would not complain about it.
  • no judgment.
  • with Certificate Of Victimization IDentification passports - you can check out any time, but you can never leave.

Welcome to the New World.

can i have your stuff?

I agree it can be a bit annoying, but I love that I’m now alerted to it when anything decloaks my ship apart from myself. Bomber messing up and decloaking the fleet? Sound. Object too close? Sound. Mobile Observatory ping decloak? Sound.

I do think this decloaking sound is a new feature for cloaks and not just for the interaction with mobile observatories. I just missed it in the patch notes.

By the way, if you decloak right before you take the gate, you won’t hear the sound.
