Version 23.02 - Catalyst - Known Issues

I just woke up. Is it worth it to download patch/log in today, or should I skip EVE for the day?

it’s fixed

Now let’s get to the elephant in the room.

What color are you making your neocom menu items?

Changing the cursor size results in PI UI elements being un-clickable. Cannot place new items cannot transfer goods etc etc.

Changing it back to ‘normal’ fixes it.

Trying to submit a bug report via the neocom results in a hard lock of the client.

Same issue here. Client crashes immediately with exit code 4 after Catalyst update.

Same goes for Dscan, Probe scanner, locations in system neocom icons,

This gives the common term “fat-fingering” a whole new dimension. CCP now hardcoded this mishap-prone body feature into the game. :joy:

Still present after yesterday’s undocumented hotfix. Not just in the main contract window but also the list where it only shows this faulty value instead of the numbers.

I’d like to keep them as they were, but now the default color is a darker grey

My Neocom Icons are almost invisible now. They went from white to dark gray, which is really bad. I don’t want to select one of those fancy monochromatic colors. I want either a visible brighter white just as before or the old full color icon pictures back, please.

Why is there a need to always remove old behavior when new one is introduced. Why has the white icon option been removed or changed that was used as a color before? Why is it not just selectable? Or is it an error?

The icon color got changed to the color that an inactive chat window has and i would like the color of the active selected chat window back for the icons please. They are almost invisible on my screen:

We’ve identified an issue that was preventing a very small number of players from logging in and the fix has been deployed. Restarting your launcher will resolve these issues.

I still can’t log in, please fix =/
Already tried to remove unused files, verify game files and clear all cache

Seems fixed, ty

Maybe the UI designers heard the pleas of some players that the space is too bright!

Another thing besides the icons on the Neocom now looking greyed out and thus “inactive” and barely visible is that the change for the mouse pointer sizes is also just the same one bit off to make it usable for me. The size “normal” is so very small (but atleast we are used to it and it is still present) and the size “large” jumps way over the target and is just HUGE, looking completely absurd. There are at minimum one or better two size settings missing between a normal and a huge mousepointer so that you could remotely adjust it to something that you would likely want to use.

I wonder if this Neocom expansion has actually been field tested by players? I am this short of suspending my EVE play due to the greyed out Neocom icons…

Don’t forget that same scam exists for contracts at 386,404.0x m3 - max m3 on a Rhea, so it’s not just DST max capacity being abused by CCP’s inability to properly display total contract volume in the contract window.

Additionally, even if you limit the size of your search to 62,500m3 or 386,404 m3, you still see the scam contracts which are 0.4 or 0.01 m3 larger than the size limit you have put into the contract search window.

Contracts which are 62,499.0 m3 also round up to 62,500 m3 in the contract window, adding more confusion.

Indeed, they should at least add a “white” colour option

Some of my outstanding contracts are funny:

This has to be the problem. Or that the game is not tested like the players play it.

I adjust the neocom bar to the smallest size possible and i suspect most players do it like this. The basic setting with the hughest possible icons just looks so ridiculous that i wonder why it is even in the game. Of course then the icons are visible in their greyed out newly bad chosen color. But really, who plays like this? I know no one. This goes to most of the settings the game presents to a new player.
Just to mention another big issue for new players is that the cargo and hangar windows is usually limited to context for new players and they don’t know about the “Always show full tree” setting yet. Most confusing up until not being able to do what you intend to do or can’t even access what you want to access and therefore loss of information and overview. This goes on with the default settings to cards in the hangar.

Finally the new mouse size setting is only needed on a hidpi or 4k monitor. If you just open the game once on such a monitor and try the settings and compare the options to a fullhd monitor experience, you immediately find that the mouse cursor can’t be adjusted to the size how it looks on a fullhd monitor. It immediately jumps from too small to too large. I would really be interested to know why it was implemented like this and not for an equal experience?

I am wondering by now if the default settings could even account for some percent of lost player retention.

You could learn how the internet works.

Your ISP is one link of a long chain connecting you to the server, so your 500mb/s download doesn’t mean anything to the rest of the world.
