Version 24.01 - Cradle of War - General Feedback

Error. Why does even platinum insurance for the “Gnosis” ship cost 0.9 ISK, while the payout is 3 ISK? Is the Gnosis that cheap to manufacture?

It’s free.

It literally costs 1 trit to make. It’s market value to due to it’s ‘rarity’

has the ore sites stopped spawning? None anywhere at present. And removing traders (latest update notes). Thought this was 100 days long? Are there seperate avalaon traders

Yes, there are separate avalon traders that are leaving next week. The Bulwark ore sites should still be spawning, they are likely on cooldown atm.

thanks for info- the update changed my settings and took of the mining sites, minor issue

Insurance is based on the reprocessing cost of the ship, or on how much minerals there are in the ship.

The SoCT ships are freely handed out and reprocess to nothing, so their insurance also is nothing.

Today’s patch notes:

Priorities, right…?

Indeed. Approximately 160MB to draw the button… it must have the most overly-detailed bitmap in the game, or some real heavy complicated drawing routines to make sure it is just right. Can’t play Eve without it… Sometimes the priorities of companies makes me go ‘facepalm’. I’m happy that there are developers fixing things - but please fix the important things first.

Ship insurance is usually based on the estimated value of the base materials listed on the blueprint for manufacturing. All SOCT ships have blueprints in the database - Gnosis Blueprint | EVE Ref - even though the blueprints cannot be owned . Each of them needs just 1 unit of Tritanium to manufacture, hence the payout of around 3 isk. And if you reprocess the ships you get part of 1 Tritianium which is rounded down to nothing usually.

I think Fenris is rather low-key with their own ads and NES/EVE Store promotions in the game and on launcher. The game hasn’t turned into a veritable commercial break where every chance you’re reminded of some deal or an opportunity to spend money. I’d say Fenris handles that part in a considerate way. I can’t say the same about most companies today.

One single NES icon in the game doesn’t bother me.

I think the Merc Dens were fixed today (FYI).

It’s an area allegedly made for NEW players, not vets.

So they need to make their minds up and remove any content that needs T2 gear and level 5 skills.

There shouldn’t be anything in that newbie area requiring that level of gear.

I watched Cade do this last night on the new epic arc and he’s spot on, with the gear you’re given it was a joke and relied too much on the RNG gods.

This is hilarious: 30 seconds before DT the 5 minute timer reset to 5 minutes and now my clients don’t disconnect and I can launch new clients, even though it’s already past 1100 EveT.

That sounds like a delayed start of downtime!

A good thing if this happens more often, if you ask me. It shouldn’t be as easy to abuse the guarantee of downtime to do things like moving supercaps safely, or making deep safes with filaments.

Downtime is a necessary evil but a bit of random jitter in it’s starting time seems good to me to make downtime strategies less feasible, as long as people are warned well in advance.

No ‘downtime will happen in 10 minute’, but ‘downtime will happen between 10 and 15 minutes from now’.

No. Downtime is during my morning coffee, I get to move one hop at worst. I can adapt because of that but don’t think it would change anything to someone like me?

Explored Exordium further and completed the career agent missions. Would like to see the process for finding Exordium asteroid belts more closely resemble the remainder of the game. Would prepare new pilots better for the transition out of Exordium.

Attempting to use “The Agency”, > “Resource Harvesting”, > “Asteroid Belts” within Exordium shows the nearest belt outside of Exordium. Have to look for “Ore Anomolies” instead to find asteroids in Exordium.

Initially, my overview did not show asteroid belts in Exordium. Figured out this issue: custom overview with a asteroid belt tab filters out the belts in Exordium. This is due to the belts in Exordium being “Managed Asteroid Belt” instead of regular “Asteroid Belt”.

There is a difference between having different security rules and different game mechanics. Easy to learn the difference between the security rules in Exordium and the neighboring high-security space. When the user interface must be operated differently to accomplish the same task, it creates an unnecessary barrier for players attempting the transition. Make it easy for new players to venture outside Exordium, especially when staying in Exordium is discouraged.

Appreciate the efforts that went into Exordium. Enjoying the game content while I am still eligible. The niche content in Eve Online makes the game unique. So much effort goes into content few players experience.

May I suggest the game developers shift some effort into more meaningful updates? Look for updates that will positively affect the vast majority of Eve players? Changes which have minimal negative consequences to the existing player base?

Like changing the industry window to be character-specific instead of account-specific? Every day with the “Manufacture an Item” daily, my industry window shows pilots have no blueprints available. Why? Because the industry window is looking in the wrong location for that pilot. Three pilots per account; three sets of adjusting the industry window to find their daily manufacture mission BPO. Repeat ad nauseam. Why is this still a thing?

How many other game mechanics aggravate the vast majority of players regularly? How much longer will they tolerate those issues? What response may we expect from them when they see major updates they will never experience, while their complaint continues to be ignored?

Why not look for updates that will strengthen the entire Eve Online player community? Surely that will be better than any alternative options, right?

@FC can we consider squeezing a little more space into some barges. The covetor and hulk now fill with 3 cycles possibly. and compressed ore fills fast. The great help with shorter cycles and critical has made these hulls very tight. Also i must make the point that drone mining out of orca or pporpoise is not really meeting expectations. The travel time both ways reduces most mining by minimum of 50%. And that does not include moving between rocks when 1 completes. My experience on max skills is an orca mines 1/3 at best of a covetor on B II crystals. Not looking big changes but small improvements to balance the different aspects.

PS i should say i am very happy with mining events and the level of participation shows others are as well.
