Version 24.01 - Cradle of War - General Feedback

Now these guys at FCCP are asking me to run some Log lite domestic tool regarding their game…

given i dont trust them i don’t thinbk i can do it

So i think i may have no choice but to either live with what FCCP cant be bothered to fix or ffuck off.

It would be nice if you can provide that info to FCCP. They don’t have your PC which makes it harder to track down bugs. The more info you give them the better chance they have of finding the causes and hopefully fixing it.

I’m not a fan of how long FCCP takes to fix some of the bugs, doesn’t fix other bugs, and the priorities they choose. But I’m just saying if you give them more info and it leads to them fixing a bug sooner it would mean you can go back to enjoying the game sooner. Your are obviously very passionate about the game. And the same fix will help other people too.

Not giving information might lead to a situation where they look a a bug and then say “No we don’t have enough data from players yet to recreate it reliably or track it down. Let’s push this issue aside until we get more information, and in the meantime focus on other stuff.” I’m not saying if you send them the logs they will fix the bug. I have no idea…if / when… But giving them some data is better than nothing. Just my opinion.

sorry, no can do, i just don’t trust them.

Lol. now they are back to claiming it’s my iMAC when it’s just in the fitting window where the issue is

I should look more often at the fitting window to trigger this bug as well. I want to be part of that club! :star_struck:

It kinda looks like the ‘static’ that used to appear on old televisions - so if you want the same effect just keep changing the orientation and position of the bunny ear aerial on top of your computer until you get a picture that looks the same. :winking_face_with_tongue:

This crap is so useless and intrusive. I am not at this Skyhook to steal from it, I just shoot it, any yet it throws this humongous UI element into my face. This should only trigger when I click on the silo or trigger info display on the silo or something. It should not show just willy-nilly. Zooming in and out should decidedly NOT trigger the display of UI elements like these.

Instead of me having to click on this silo to make this disappear, I should have to click on the silo to make it appear. Opt-out is ALWAYS an objectively poor UX than Opt-In.

At the risk of sounding obvious – have you cleared your cache, verified game files, removed unused files, and restarted your computer? At the extreme end of what you can do is clean reinstall of EVE if those don’t work.

Loglite is a functionality built into the launcher, by the way. It’s found under launcher tools. It’s not some new program you have to install. I mean, if you’re concerned Fenris is using it to hack/spy/whetever else on your computer, then you’ve already installed and run EVE, so it would be a lot easier for them to do that through your client anyway.

just a passing thought, how do the ESS banks and orbital skyhooks work in terms of hacking and theft

Totally agree 100%. :+1: On top of that the source code for Loglite is made available freely, so it is not as if FCCP would hide the type of info it collects.

Eve itself already sends some OS/hardware information to FFCP regularly - that is how they know the percentage of players using certain systems, etc. Loglite just expands on this with more thorough and detailed data.

And when he signed up for Eve he already gave his personal information and a payment method… so I’m not sure what information he is worried about… Perhaps his choices of anime shows - wars have been started over that serious info I’m sure…

And indeed you get an opportunity to review the data the tool collects before you email it along to them… So no real cause for concern, I reckon.

Online privacy/security is a valid concern nowadays. If the general population was more concerned about it, we’d have a lot less infrignements/hacks/scams on the internet. And big techs couldn’t just enrich themselves from selling your data and spying on you, if people were more aware. (I’m talking about you Nissan, for spying on your clients’ sex lives). That is probably one of the main reasons some people are more paranoid than others.

There are some things one can do to fight back on it. One thing being choosing carefully who you share your information with and whether it’s worth it. Am I okay with providing info on my OS type and some system specifications to Fenris, so that they could try to fix some of the bugs and I could play the game? Yeah, sure. Would I be okay with giving away details about who I have sex with, when, and where to Nissan just to own their car? Absolutely not! I’ll buy a different brand.

Somewhere there’s a line, and it’s up to everyone to draw it for themselves. The worst one can do, is be ignorant on the topic.

I wouldn’t be surprised! That’s a very serious business.
