They were going to have to make changes to the game engine itself just so 17 players could play dress-up…
We would have had ‘such’ fun tho.
That’s the story of CCP. A day late and a dollar short. The same thing with Dust 514. Had they tried Dust and WIS a couple years later, and not coded Dust for a dying console system, maybe they both would have stuck around.
I seem to recall a certain Yellow Dress…
Please specifically list what else needs this application youre referring to.
The curiosity is overwhelming me.
does not matter. nothing is a target, but nothing is sacred. since the new number is 3% we will use that. anything where less than 3% of the players use it should be removed as it is a waste of dev time and resources.
This makes, what… 12 years since World of Darkness was axed?
Yep, and coming up on 10 years since WIS was removed.
And basically no f*cks were given then, either.
But, will Litiura become Uedama?
Every system needs to become Uedama…
New leadership ALWAYS believes that they have the perfect solution.
Don’t know enough about it to offer an honest opinion…
Why not make every system 0.0?
I would gladly embrace that. ![]()
Did you mean having a 0.5 security status or roaming bands of gankers?
This game has never had new leadership. That’s the problem.
You must have sort of an idea of what you think needs removed. List something.
To just say " well it doesnt matter" isnt acceptable. List what you think isnt worth the resources any longer so that the devs may spend more time on something else.
You wouldnt even being saying this unless you knew what those wasted entities were.
I mean really, im interested what those could be.
EVE Online itself has not been passed around repeatedly. The company behind it, CCP Games, has had two major ownership changes:
-
2006, CCP merged with White Wolf
This was more of a merger than a simple “sale.” CCP remained the EVE studio. (WIRED) -
2018, Pearl Abyss bought CCP Games
Pearl Abyss, the Black Desert Online company, acquired CCP Games. CCP continued operating EVE. (Pearl Abyss)
There is also a 2026 reported sale/separation, where Pearl Abyss sold CCP back to its management team for about $120 million, with CCP rebranding as Fenris Creations. That would make it three major corporate ownership events if you count the 2026 management buyout. (Inven Global)
Bought/sold outright: 2 times, maybe 3 if counting the 2026 management buyout.
Corporate ownership/merger events affecting EVE: 3.
I think they meant that the same leadership team has been calling the shots for at least 20 years.
At this point, you might as well put Todd Howard in charge… ![]()
