Not to mention the Amarr war campaign reward will be a new station with lowered taxes compared to typical NPC stations (among which is Jita). I suspect that Jita will have the inertia to continue being the main trade hub for a long time, but if it doesn’t, the new trade hub is going to be this new station in Amarr, and the new stargates will link it through .7 or higher systems to both Hek and Dodixie. Only Jita would have no way to be reached without going into a .5 or lower system. Jita could well become the new backwater, and freighter ganking would be severely negatively impacted.
Which I guess narratively will make sense. CONCORD scammed the Caldari out of the system, and now their utter incompetence will turn it into a complete backwater, and the cluster’s capsuleers will pivot to throwing all their tax money into the pockets of slavers instead.
AFAIK, it’s not in the update today, but the patch notes were released today for the update June 9.
Btw, @Malak_Starfire was right. The new stargate connection from Genesis to Caldari space lands in the Border Zone, south of Uedama. Makes sense lore-wise, but sad trombone for the haulers.
The route from Amarr to Jita is shorter by going through a lot of .5 systems in Genesis, even without the detour from Gheth, the trade route would have shifted anyways.
That’s the shorter, 34-jump route. There is also a slightly longer 39-jump route with only one 0.5 system (Uedama) and four 0.6. (Note: This is subject to error. I’m having to do a lot of manual pathfinding since neither dotlan nor the in-game map is updated yet.)

EDIT 2: Bolded the new links.
That horse has been beaten so many times it has been reduced to atoms. Walking in stations is not coming back. Ever. EVE is ships in space, not playing Ken and Barbie dress up in stations…
Absolutely. First of all, WIS wasn’t even created for EVE. It was a technology testbed for another game they were working on at the time. Second, an internal audit showed that less than 10% of players even made use of the Captain’s Quarters, thus it was removed…
Trig invasions gameplay had the right idea to shuffle the common trade routes and potentially impact static trade hubs. Alas, devs chickened out on it … as always.
