Making hisec less profitable, and all of EVE more hostile to individual and small groups, hasn’t made lowsec and nulsec any more inviting.
It never will.
Players will simply leave to find another game that suits their playstyle better. There are probably a lot more choices now than 20 years ago when EVE debuted.
All the things that the remaining players hate and have called for change over the years (and the remaining ones that will be changed in the future), are arguably what lead to the creation of the first “golden age” of EVE.
Those days are gone. Those people are extremely unlikely to ever return to EVE.
Congrats everyone. You have the game you wanted and deserve.
Highsec has been extremely buffed in income over the years with the addition of Burner Missions, Marauders and Abyssals. And partly EpicArcs which pay quite well if you know how to chain&blitz them. Also recently the Homefront beacons that can easily multiboxed and some groups are farming them like hell. It simply has become way too much for the safety HighSec offers. There are even people that live in Nullsec but grind their ISK with Alts in Highsec for the easypeasy logistic and almost complete safety if you are not overly stupid. The risk-vs-reward-balance is seriously disturbed if you cannot make way more money in Null and Low with the same activities than in High.
And this is wrong because? Forcing people into low sec where they do not belong and never should be if they do not WANT to pvp is the wrong decision because you only make these people quit.
You cannot force pvp on people who do not want it without losing them…end of story and bottom line…
You cannot force pvp says Kenny above. We agree with you but it doesn’t change anything as this is how Eve Online works @Kanavaisto_Askiras we decided to undock n a non rookie system.
The Capsuleers that are not forced to log in but when they do, they need to be prepared to face what New Eden is about.
Training two characters at once as an Omega default, even if the second character trains at alpha speed. They raised the price, don’t offer any good deals anymore and we get nothing in return. Yet people complain about a silly booster that’s one and done.
There was a time when I held that view, but experience of the game long since changed my mind.
I was ganked as a noob…and I am still in the the game 2 years later with 15 characters now, two of which have actually done ganking. One of my noob chars got zapped in Ahbazon only a few days ago…and far from feeling bad about it I was pleased that their very first killboard record was at one of the most dangerous lowsec systems. A sort of ‘this person takes risk’ trophy.
The entire ‘force a playestyle’ argument is just utter nonsense, as the act of undocking is your consent to whatever carnage may occur. Get used to it…and enjoy the game.
Nobody is forcing anyone. People can still stay in HighSec all day long. They just shouldn’t benefit from the easy logistics and almost complete safety there while still making comparable cash to those who dare to dive into the dangerous parts of the map. There are only two ways to reach a balance here:
a) all other areas are buffed greatly in income options
b) highsec is nerfed to cut off the most extreme peak incomes
Since we already have a huge ISK inflation, option b) is absolutely preferrable.
But they are forced into PVP by being attacked without consent, end of story.
At the end it all comes down to one thing for ccp : Do you want MORE PVE in your game by changing the envirorement for PVE(instance PVE completely unscannable and only allow consented PVP in high and low) or furthermore scare away PVE by leaving all as it is and -at one day- with only a few PVP players left that are supposed to kill each other over and over again in an endless loop?
Those are the only possible choices here in the sight of about 50% PVE loss in the last let’s say 2 years(CCP’s own numbers)? You don’t need PVE? well your choice, but then.in another 2 years you only will have PVP left and a dead game…your choice CCP…
