I’ve searched but cannot find, so now I’m just gonna ask, what happens to our ability to access emails out-of-game like we can on the old forums? Is that going to remain as it is or is it getting moved over here or is something new being made?

I don’t have, nor do I plan to get, a smart phone of any kind. I like my bricks. What about those of us that prefer to keep our PC-related applications on PC?

When the current forums are retried on July 20th, EVE Gate will still remain accessible for the foreseeable future, you just won’t be able to post on the forums there.
We’re currently looking at a new web based solution for EVEmail, however there’s no real details we can offer at this time, as we’re still exploring how we’d like to do it.
For now, EVE Gate will still remain in place so that you can access EVEmail through your browser

Fantastic. It’s good to know that I can still communicate while doing something other than EVE, since it’s not the only game I play or thing I do at my PC. Thanks Falcon.

This might seem obvious, but occasionally I’m in the middle of something else, and like to keep an eye on my mail just in case something requires me to log in, or something needs an immediate response.

Hopefully the old forums go through the electronic form of a shredder…theres was enough toxic garbage on there to kill the entire planet were it not contained. Seems only 12-20 regulars were on there…the rest were their alts…angry people fleecing noobs.

There had been a mention in one of the other forums that in integrating Eve Gate into the old Eve Forums it would cause the forums to go down when Tranquility was down. It seems like a good call not to do the same with the new forums. Still as one who heavily uses out of game tools when time doesn’t permit me to log in, I’m really glad to see that love for the Eve Gate/Mail is in the works.

There are two third-party projects that allow you read\write access to in-game mail via ESI from browser:

http://www.eve-mails.com (project under development with basic finctionality)
I’m sure we will see more similar projects in the future.
