What if One day, Corporations can be trade as a asset in EVEonline?

I hope to make companies in the game tradable like assets, allowing them to be freely bought and sold, with their employees included as part of the package transferred to the new owner. This would make the game’s economy more realistic and engaging, while enriching player interactions. Imagine being able to acquire an ongoing business along with its entire team, or selling part of your workforce to a rival company desperately needing talent. Such mechanics would not only add strategic depth but also bring the virtual world closer to real-world business dynamics.

you can kinda do that now lol.
adding someone to the corp, and basically making them the new director or CEO.

This can already be done, both in-game and on the forum. Players sell corps and characters on here all the time.

well, you can not move your corp members to the new corp, especially the ones who is recently not online. And you might also dont like the name of your company.

On the forum is not quite good because the game need to improved to allow players do this these in the game.

They aren’t employees. They are other players, who chose of their own free will to associate (or not) with your in-game group.

Acquire? Workforce? They are supposed to be your friends. People you play a game with. You don’t acquire friends by purchasing them, or sell your friends to someone else.

You have a very twisted and impersonal idea of what a corporation is in EVE. Hint: Corp members aren’t NPCs. They are other people, actual human beings, who have exactly the same agency in the game as yourself. Would you like to be bought and sold? Treated as an in-game asset, or part of a workforce?

I find this thread offensive.

You told me the same thing that most people would say.

But is everyone your friend? how about enemy??

I can sell you a corporation for 1 billion.

Yes. Because most people are not sociopaths.

Been able to do this since I started ‘10.

Estel was famous for it.

I feel a bit reluctant to answer, because I get the feeling this is another Swing Vote club member creating a post intended for nothing other than to stir up drama, but for the sake of anybody else coming up with such nonsense:

Corporations in EVE are not like corporations in the real world. They are not ‘businesses’. You won’t actually gain any ‘talent’ by selling corporations as whole. ‘Talent’ in EVE is mostly SP, and you don’t need to buy corporations whole to get that. People do sell corps here, but those are empty corporations without member base, and it’s only because some people want an old corporation or a specific name. That’s all. Anybody who is not sensitive to corp name or founding year will just make a new corporation of their own.

This type of mentality of yours is sick. The idea that people could be ‘sold’ to other people for money. You know there’s a term for that? If you think this will bring EVE closer to ‘‘real-world business dynamics’’, then I would like to find out what year do you think you’re living in or which country.

Your idea would not make the game more ‘realistic’ or ‘engaging’. Rather, it would make it exploitative and discriminatory, and would look like harking back to some long-forgotten practices that don’t belong in the 21st century.

People have very little reason to stay within a corporation in EVE if they do not like the group.

Players would just leave if a corporation is ‘sold’. I know I would.

You completely misunderstood this game, its features and social dynamics in it.

There are a lot of “dead” accounts, you need to carry. Not all people would insist playing eveonline, the numbers of people you recruit can demonstrate sth about your management skills, to me, that is not free, it is valued. Why would player wasted it???

Doesn’t work that way

Dead accounts of players who stopped playing are worthless. They contribute nothing.

If they bother you because they count towards your corp limits you can purge them.
