What is next for EveOnline

As a logi pilot you defend your pals and repair them on grid.

So in other words absolutely no benefit for the person piloting the Orca.

They get to log in, boost other people, and get absolutely nothing out of it. Sounds like a great job.

Greed is one of the 7 sins. But if you want, you can still “steal” all the ore in the cans on grid and decide who gets paid what.

And you can still bring mining drones if you want but a command ship is not a solo-pwn-mobile but a co-op gameplay assist boat.

I am in the same boat except I wont tell you how long I’ve been waiting.

you can charge some tip in minerals to boost you know?
i used to charge x units of ice long time ago

And to get an idea how this could look, I proposed some changes to the Orca in the assembly hall for the CSM to have a look.

In all fairness to the ranting I’ve done lately this change in mechanics and its impact cant really be over stated.

Unless you are earning as much or more as you could by simply mining yourself in an exhumer, then there is still no benefit to it.

On a slightly different note, what “benefit” do you propose any command ship pilot in a fleet should have and how should they be “paid”??

well you have more tank and more cargo … plus drone mining is more chill
you get some tips here and there for doing a job , people don’t mind to give you the first cargo to stay in field more time and mine more

I mean its pretty much certain that Ratatti will make mining drones essentially un-useable on Orcas and other command ships either by taking all the bonuses away making them functionally worthless and/or removing or nerfing the drone bandwidth.

This assumes you will still be able to use mining drones at all.

Well in changing the Orca, we wanted to make barges and exhumers viable again.

not pretending to be a expert , i did it long time ago in ice fields because i found mining ice relaxing at the time

Then everyone can use barges and exhumers to mine with and the Orcas will sit docked.

In my proposal, I suggested the Orca gains some mobility to help with on-grid logi.

Maybe if barges and exhumers can gain some mobility and even a tad powergrid to be able to fit afterburners, mining would become ever so slightly more active and engaging.

Without stepping on my True Sansha ships toes, they could even get a 100% to 150% afterburner speed bump to make barges and exhumers more mobile while not being un-catchable.

We wouldn’t want to upset the ganking fellas too much, won’t we?

The first few days were difficult i’ll admit, but the longer I leave it the less I want to log back in. Joke is it isnt really much too do with scarcity, that is just CCP digging their own grave, i just find the game incredibly boring currently

While “I” didn’t mine, I covered gates/wh’s. It is a necessary evil that while not exactly exciting, it’s still fun bs’ing with friends, made us isk, and if somebody did pop in, then it got exciting for everyone! We weren’t very organized back then!

While most of us are at least a little worried, this drop happens every yr. After being stuck staying away from all my friends, I’m out and about as much as I can now. We all know we see any good numbers till fall.

I still like my conspiracy theory that CCP is driving down the numbers on purpose taking a load off the servers and at least somewhat mitigating tdi.

The majority of Orca pilots I have seen are miltiboxing with their own private fleet of various mining ships. So they are simply boosting themselves with a large cargo hold so mining ships can stay put. Some go as far to have another account with a large hauler come pick up loads so the Orca don’t have to move either. This is all hisec but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it all over.

That’s just daft thinking… with numbers plucked from nowhere…

The amount of characters, regardless of how long they’re logged into the game, doesn’t change the overall amount of current players online.
