What is the point of a holding corp

I could understand the idea in low sec or null but what about high sec. Like you can’t defend the station because it’s in a holding corp and you can’t declare war on the faction who declared war on your holding corp because you don’t have any stations

Holding corps are a loophole to allow players to avoid war declarations.

Have a high sec corp?
Want structures?
Want no wars?

Use a holding corp for the structures!

Now your players can use structures without being targeted by the usual war dec corps.

Will that leave the structures vulnerable to war decs? Not if your group has allies or a pvp group to defend the structures while the rest of the group is war-immune.

I think the war dec system is broken and needs another overhaul, but until then my hauling alt enjoys war immunitt.

Nothing personal, but you think?

In Wrecking Machine I’ve always stayed in the corp for the entire duration of any war. There isn;t any holding corp to swap back to. Though as WM only exists to fight wars that’s not really an issue. I’ve done corp swaps in Absolute Order…personally I’d rather carry on in the wardeced corp and get some kills. I find corp swapping a pain in the proverbial.

I think wars were better when anyone ( except players hiding in npc corps ) could be decced whether they had a structure or not. To stop players hiding in npc corps just have the npc tax go to 75% after your toon is 30 days old. Would force players to join or make a corp.

Just my opinion
