And because LordOdysseus posted Lady Marmalade.. I just had to dig this up from Madtv..You are welcome..
And to continue the insanity.. A little culture for you barbarians..
And because you can never be thunderstruck enough…

This song has had many covers, and usually I don’t like covers or much prefer the originals, but this one cover is quite charming.
Also, the original, because it’s auntie Ish here.
The Turtles took on the song after it was rejected by many other bands and singers, but The Turtles weren’t in a position to reject songs so they took it and struck gold, literally.
The song, by the way, is about an unrequited love, rather than a happy one, and the line “How is the weather?” at the outro was a placeholder that became final because of the charming absurdity of it.

ti piace vivere come sei
e vuoi rispondere solo a te
come stai
ti distingui dall’uomo comune
ti piace vivere come vuoi
e rispondi solo a te
Something new…
…this has been a fun listen during creative projects.

But, but… did he find a Xmas 3? Wouldn’t a Xmas 2 do until they release Xmas 4?

What is hip? Doing a cover of Tower Of Power.

So this is one sad song, about a broken love, based on the writer’s (Jimmy Webb) experience when he broke with his girlfriend… The song was quite popular and remained #1 for several weeks despite its radio-unfriendly duration. After its initial success, it had many versions, of which the one I really wanted to bring here is this absolute masterpiece that snatched the lyrics from the first section straight into the uptempo of the middle section and…
What could go wrong with The Giorgio (Moroder) and Donna Summer? Nothing. This remix (Moroder’s first) was an absolute hit that smashed both the dance floors and the charts.
Bonus: 12’ version, taken from the full length suite (about 18 minutes)
