Tomo - Down by the woods (2025)

Another random find, with haunting lyrics.

Fabulous mist driving experience

Dead Can Dance - Rakim (1994)

When you’re a pro and have no AI nor software to improve your performance: practice and rehearse until you record the darn thing, live, in one single take.

Because “Rakim” was never recorded in a studio.

Never not DCD.

Bear McCreary - Baltar’s dream (OST for Battlestar: Galactica, 2005)

Starts dreamy, then 1:40 rolls in and epic begins

Also, in a rare occasion in which the music reminded me of the video and not the opposite…

This is one of the most awe inspiring videos ever made, even if it steps on copyrights’ toes. Kudos to whoever watched the footage and noticed how the timing of slow-mo camera E8 matched the crescendo of the theme so it started as the umbilicals withdraw and the beast is set free to fly.

I am not a big fan of Rap, but that was funny. Funny because it is true.

Huh… not my cup of tea, I dislike overdone renditions. Also, Ishtanchuk sends her regards, because…

Dougie MacLean - The Gael (1990)

Never not know the original.

Iain Maclachlan - Dr. MacKay’s Farewell to Creagorry (1958)

Remembering what was the original behind “Promentory” for The Last Of The Mohicans film soundtrack drove me into remembering another song that’s often mistaken for a traditional yet is contemporary… and no, it was not “A son do ar”, despite my memory struggling to get rid of it and focus on the actual thing I was remembering. And it was this one, known as “The dark island” after of a BBC show but whose original title was what I posted.

Also, bonus (now get off my head):

Luar na lubre - O son do ar (1988; this is the 1997 Plenilunio version)

What’s not to love of a song titled “The sound of the air”? Unfortunately the 1988 version is quite difficult to pin up and might not be on YT…

Great song…even without being linked to Starfield…
