What would you do if you Couldn’t Gank?

And it just occurred to me that you could make more isk by asking me how I popped you than you would make with that run? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Which run?

Anything in “My” wh. (Forced upon me by CCP.) If you came in, you died. I would try to chat with said victim and if I can teach them of their mistake, they would get paid up to triple what their loss was worth including cargo etc. With a full load, quite a profit. You could buy your ship back np. A full load is what I, at least consider a run.

Are you still wormholing?

 No, to easy. there’s no one there anymore and I got tired of subbing 3 accts for nothing.

I’ve been meaning to get back into WH life. It’s been way too long and I’ve probably forgotten everything! In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ve forgotten most of it…

Thinking about it. It seems to have fallen into 2 categories? Noobs who lost all and BOV who forgot the danger. Hence the price payout difference.

So have I but don’t that let that stop you! A very peaceful place to live. I only had a C2. Plenty-o-times they hit he sta, but not worth sticking around to finish it off!

So is a C2 best for peace and quiet? What about a C3? Wonder if I should train into an Expedition ship? Just need to find a static close by… (lazy and I’ve got too much crap to move)

There you have me. I don’t think a C3 is worth it simply because there’s nothing there worth it? Can’t remember now. I did a lot of research for the wh I wanted for pi. And I mean a lot. I found the perfect wh for the pi I wanted. Over time, forced out the others and chose that C2 for those reasons. It comes down to how greedy you are. Some wh’s make great profit but come with high risk. After careful condensation, I chose what I did. Like everything I do in game, I make careful choices about what I do.

Something BOV’s can’t pass along to lazy new players it seems.

The ganksters have caused this problem for themselves. They were warned that over hunting would eventually cause this drought of players but they continued to insist that they were “creating content” or “teaching players a lesson” or some other high-minded nonsense. Fact of the matter is that, despite all their arguments, they were driving players out of the game. Now they cry that FC is killing off their playstyle because FC is trying something to stop the bleeding of new players thay they are partially responsible for!

I’m not saying that ganking, scams, etc are the sole reason Eve is losing new players. It’s a 20+ year old niche game with a reputation for being tough and unforgiving. But apparently FC saw something in the numbers that made them conclude that it was time to try something different to ease new players into the game. I applaud them for at least recognizing the problem even if this first attempt may not be perfect.

I think they just listened to the Anti-Ganking crowd too much.

The numbers show that it isn’t ganking which drives people from the game.

FC is a business. They listened to the hard numbers that showed they were losing money. Period.

You can cry about anti-gankers (of which there are few) all you like but, you gankers created this problem yourselves. FC made a business decision to fix it.

Also if you read what I wrote I said that ganking wasn’t the SOLE reason but, it was apparently a large enough issue that FC took action.

lol, so hopeful.

We’ll see, if there’s a spike in player numbers due to retention due to Exordium, won’t we.

Probably too early to tell, but EVE-Offline :: EVE-Online Status monitor doesn’t show any significant uptick yet

Way too early to tell. FC will need at least 6-8 months of pushing new content out for Exordium. And I don’t think it’s going to be a night and day kind of scenario; more like a gentle nudge.

Nice way to allow yourself to win if it’s shown to have had no effect.

I didn’t say in which direction. And even if it succeeds, it may only stem any losses from the next few lacklustre expansions…

Exactly. That’s what it seems a lot of people don’t understand. We players might have opinions, gut feelings, or impressions based on what we see in the game. FC has metrics. They can run a database query and see how many players suffered a loss meeting certain parameters and then did not login for 30 days after, or if Omega, didn’t renew their sub. They can (and likely, do) run this and other reports daily, weekly, monthly, etc. There’s probably someone at the company whose job it is to run these reports.

Companies like FC don’t make business decisions based on forum feedback or what people upvote on Reddit. When decisions could have an effect their bottom line, they make them based on metrics.

It’s been less than a month. It’s way too early to tell if Exordium is working but, time will tell.

I’m… less than impressed. The COW expansion seems like it had almost zero testing, the Military Campaigns have been underwhelming and Exordium has had little if anything to offer (aside from a wife spate of bugs and other issues).

I mean, if we’re trying to “bore” players out of Exordium I think that may be succeeding…
