And then what? Or better yet then DO what? More advanced ships aren’t somehow better or more fun automatically, all ships serve a certain play style and require a level of effort which you either enjoy and are good at… or not. Being able to fly or do things that aren’t your interest or you’re just not invested and informed enough to make use of you still won’t be able to fly, you can fly them technically but you’d lose them left and right and if it requires competence and teamwork no good team will take you.
A good player is good regardless, a bad or uninformed player is bad regardless. If you fly the same ships you fly now nothing changes other than perhaps a few % here and there, if you fly new ships you will probably lack the use for and/or the experience then effectively nothing changes apart from more hilarious and costly lossmails.
Realistically, once you have ~20 mil SP you can do your core play styles pretty much maxed out, around 40 mil SP you start to run out of stuff you need/want to train. Over 200 mil SP you get annoyed by having to add more skills: “oh god, the queue is empty again, lets add 6 more months or random skills, who the F cares”.
What an ugly mean shameful and homophobic thing to say about a generation who’s only wishing against hope to have it as good as we had it back in the Cretacious period.
These youngsters aren’t aliens preying on our resources. They’re our children, nieces and nephews. They are the generation who will suffer for our excesses and our mistakes.
I don’t much like what this so-called society has become but that doesn’t mean I’m going to blame it on some kids who had nothing to do with the changes I don’t like.
Your comment is the reason why I’d rather converse with a 20-yo instead of your mean ilk.
I’m also genX and as much I like to believe I have no responsibility whatsoever for what this so-called society has become I try not to lie to myself. Reality is we’re all responsible, directly or indirectly, and insulting the newer generations for what they may or may not be that is approved or not by a bunch of selfish old men is simply disgusting to me.
What’s holding Eve back is imbalance across the board. There’s a general perception that I’ve seen from gankers, AG, miners, wardecers, and a lot of others…that everything is harder to do. As the game relies on people going out and losing ships…that additional difficulty is not a good thing.
The problem with losing ships is not the cost…I’ve so far lost about 30m ISK worth of ships, which is tiny when I consider that I have 1bn ISK worth of ships. The problem is that nobody wants that loss on killboard. Even a 10,000 ISK shuttle is a ‘loss’.
