Cant afford to fly it on a regular basis then, can you.
Thats a pretty big if. What are you basing it on?

Where have you been the last 6 months?!
Why should CCP make it cheap to lose Asteros though?
Fly cheaper ships instead if you need better insurance to afford losing Asteros.
I’ve never understood the near obsession people have with using ships that are more expensive than they need. I’m just gonna keep shooting them with much cheaper ships.
Its pretty rude to answer a question with a question.
But I havent been anywhere.
What are you basing this idea that anyone wants HS people to live in NS/LS?
If you dont mean live, then I dont see what you mean. People have always day tripped there and WHs.
I didn’t say necessarily to live there, just visit regularly.
Remember the “Great Escape” campaign 2 months or so ago?
And that was also in part the purpose of “scarcity”, to try to force people out of hi into low and null for ores needed.
Instead of whining about insurance I’d focus more on learning not to lose an Astero to a Heron. Then you won’t have to replace it in the first place.
Nope.
What was that about? Which log in rewards did I get for it?
If you have some CCP blurb that supports this idea, just quote or link it, pls.
Really? Because to me the purpose of scarcity was to make me a lot richer selling my stocks of stuff when everyone panic bought and the price shot up. Whats the point trying to mine in LS/NS when they have scarcity too and youre just going to get your barge blown by locals anyway?
Im not seeing incentives, quite the opposite really.
You are extrapolating this from evidence but without CCP actually saying it, I dont believe thats what it means.
By the same measure, these things are better for NS/LS dwellers and so you could say the puepose is to incentivise those people want to keep HS riff raff OUT of their space.
I’d like to know your EVE battle history.
But you’re not listed on zkill so…
In fact, I don’t even see your profile in the game. Just 1 person, not the same pic, who’s been in an NPC corp for just 60 days.
So either your an alt or troll.
A significant portion of players use a forum alt to avoid giving away intel. Nothing wrong with that. I’m posting with a forum alt - it’s simply old enough to verify my game history and in the same alliance as my main to verify my associations and confirm those two data elements about me as a player.
My point is they are trying (not succeeding ) to be critical of MY zkill history and I have no idea what THEIR history is. Could be a 10+ year vet, could be a newbie.
Hard to listen to an empty box…
So you’re just going to avoid the point then. Ok.
If you are saying you cannot afford to regularly lose an Astero, and your zKill history shows you losing one to a solo Heron, in lowsec, it’s a valid critique to say before asking CCP to change things, try bettering yourself.
Go look up that guy’s Heron fit. He was rigged as a predator, not another mere explorer as I was fit. He was looking for a kill. Probably had scanned down that site before I got there and just needed to warp in (I didn’t see any probes on dscan, I checked often). No different than predator Ventures. Wolf in sheep’s clothing. Heck - In the current event I’ve been threated at 4 times in hisec sites by some fairly high end ships! (dumb way to lose a good ship in hisec, to Concord)
But if you or they or someone else is going to be critical of my losses (and you’re another one I don’t find in zkill) yet I can’t see theirs for comparison, it’s a not a discussion, it’s a beat down.
Off topic anyway.
My point about insurance is well stated above.
Either CCP has to rethink the methodology or remove it as a game mechanic. It’s not even worth being an isk sink the way it is.
Fly Safe.
you can’t find people on zkill if they don’t register on zkill…
insurance is not broken, i even posted straight from CCP themselves how insurance works.
thats like the SoCT ships, praxis etc… its not worth it to insure them, cause all it takes is a tritanium to build them…
and before you decide you wanna troll about my zkill, it is available in all its not so glory, since geo is my main…
Explain to me why anyone should listen to some who just rages on the forums, who makes a ton of long and dumb drama posts while it’s obvious they don’t have a clue about things?
Your posting history is nothing but uninformed drama raging.
Insurance has always ranged across the following spectrum:
Non existent - SOCT ships 1isk
Negligible - faction ships
Terrible - t2 ships
not bad - t1 ships
As a simple rule of thumb, if you plan to lose the ship insure it. If not don’t. It’s basically a bet on whether you will lose it or not.
Insurance coverage is based off the base mineral requirements to build a ship and always has been.
But now everything bigger than a BC needs more than just minerals
This will certainly have affected how good battleship and capital insurance returns are. I would expect that the percentage has gone down considerably.
The other (non faction) T1 hulls should still have decent insurance returns
Insurance is an isk faucet and as such it got nerfed due to the, not so recent, direction changes. The nerf is indirect and specific, almost as if they intended it that way… Being surprised by this just shows a massive lack of general understanding of the game.
I think it’s fine, loss should be meaningful, players will have to think more about consequences to their (in)actions.
For me personally it made solo BS PvP more of an issue, that and other things, but I’m ok with that if it also means null blocks can’t just print and lose supers anymore without consequence.
