It rats effortlessly in 0.2 and effortlessly tanks L3 missions. Its cloak also comes in handy when traveling. It’s a pretty nice ship. Every now and then I lose a drone in L3s. That’s it. Soon I’ll test it in L4s.
Get yourself a Leshak, you can thank me later
Any fool can buy a computer capable of running thirty accounts. However, I think you will find there is more to it.
The “more to it” isn’t difficult. I’ve done it before on other games. It’s easy.
Nah, all it says is you know how to swipe a credit card.
So you’ve never really played EvE Online?
So you’ve cheated in other games?
What a fascinating insight into your core beliefs and character.
You have opinions about multiboxing in EvE Online, but you haven’t actually done it, so I’m merely pointing out the gap between theory and practice.
I have extensive skills and experience with computer applications. I’ve done computer programming. Multiboxing is not difficult.
You have no personal experience to substantiate your opinion.
Have done quite a bit of programming at university and at work, but multiboxing looks difficult - you say it is easy ?
That’s what he says. But he says all sorts of things. Most of which are untrue and with no supporting evidence, so…
The fact he cites “computer programming” as relevant to multiboxing is proof he has no idea what multiboxing actually entails.
Hint: It’s not programming skills.
I find this statement to be a complete lie. Absolute lie. I don’t believe you. You are lying.
of self-admitting to botting?
(As in his only experience with multiboxing is his coding of his bots for his mining fleet.)
You give the miner too much credit
Ok, you are criticizing multiboxing.
I don’t think you know how to multibox.
Prove me wrong?
All anyone can do is offer their opinion, after that it is up to you to accept it as good advice or simply something you don’t find acceptable. I view players in the game as “advanced NPCs”, they offer more of a challenge than the standard AI script. Maybe with the AI improving we won’t know the difference in the near future.
Players of Eve Online are divided on several fronts. Not only by “miners” vs “gankers” or “Alpha” vs “Omega”. Every PvPer in general will feel the sting of defeat. My wife would toss at you her psycho-babble degree in psychology at this point, but I am just an old skool tech rat from the 80s. Back in high school we were far removed from being politically correct.
Gate Campers
Yesterday I was taking an empty Miasmos to Amarr from Jita, I flip an imaginary coin in my brain and decided to dock in Hykkota before going into Ahbazon. In my capsule I run through and see all the gate campers. I tossed out the morning greeting to them and they destroyed my capsule as I expected. I never cared much for these people back when I played WoW. They would hide and snipe you exiting towns in the game. I just find them annoying but expected. Back in Jita I jumped into a cheap shuttle and ran back to the gate. I deposited several jetcans ( which I think last 1 to 2 hours ) in the system. I labeled them “WARNING: Ahbazon gate +30 pirates / +17 ships lost”. I ran the gate losing the shuttle but docked in Ahbazon. I played the 2 other characters on my account while I waited for it to clear. Later I undocked in my capsule and they were gone. I got my ship from Hykkota to Amarr.
The lesson here is just to play the game smart. Had I flown into the system without checking, I have no one but myself to blame. I would be out a 3 million hauler and to someone like me, with billions it really don’t matter. But people just starting the game, don’t know how to make the big ISK in the first month. It is their own fault, if they don’t educate themselves about this or any other game.
Ganker vs Miners
These people are not what I can call PvPers. They choose to prey on easy targets that cannot fight back. Vulture Ganker (VG) is what I guess I would call them. Again, I only find them slightly less annoying than the campers. They zip in and blow up your unarmed ship mining ores, gas, or ice. Speaking from experience, the first few times this happens you ask, “Why me?”. The typical VG is just piss poor at killing anything with a weapon. They probably have been blown up by the most pathetic AI scripted NPCs in the game. There are a few ways to cope.
I mine in my venture, costing me at most 10 M ISK ( gas mining ) it takes 50 minutes to fill the hold. I can activily watch the ship and chat with others or AFK mine for the 50 minutes. If the ship is brand new, I like to get the 10 M ISK back before it get blasted. I normally sit for the first load. After that it is up to fate, I set my alarm and return to a full ship or it has been destroyed. Basically miners to are the VG’s pinatas in space. Always remember to fit a Warp Core Stabilizer to your gas mining venture as it will fend off the warp scram. I have become good at hitting the dock button, while watching the strategic display, when I see ships warp in on grid. Some will still sneak up on you with a cloaked ship.
Suicide Gankers vs Haulers
These people are at least behaving as real pirates should. They size up the cargo by scanning the ship, then they set up an ambush point in high security to quickly claim their victory and hope to escape before they are destroyed by the authorities. Unlike gate campers, these players don’t want to sit near the gate but rather in your path to the next gate or station. They risk the loss of their ship for the value of your cargo.
Pretty obvious how to avoid them or it should be. Simply avoid the most common pitfall of hauling all your eggs to market in on shot. More trips is always annoying, but it vastly increases your odds of getting your profit.
Player vs Players
These are the most respected players in my book. People willing to attack armed ships and willing to take on escorts and defenders at the risk of their own. The smart miners will have a team, corporation, or paid escorts. These players are the fair players, who enjoy the challenge and savor the sweet taste of victory.
I fail to ever understand all the PC drama of this generation. I thought it was odd when an E-gamer got banned from an EA competition for tea bagging. The NFL fines players for victory dances in the end zones. Wake up and smell the coffee players! It is just a game, something to have fun playing. If you can’t do that, I feel sorry for you.
Fly safe o7
50 minutes ? I can fill the hold of a T1 gaussian laser Venture in about 20 mins.
Very nice post. Well thought out, and hits the nail on the head!
Take my like, dammit!
