It’s the opposite.
Uncompressed Kernite is more expensive than normal because it is a turn-in for storyline agents, which artificially props up the price. Therefore, compressed Kernite appears cheaper than usual, relatively speaking.

True I was just looking at Jita for a few options and over the past 12 months it has seen the price lower.
Kernite is used for Storyline turn ins, if placed in the system where it is turned in it’s value is very high. But that local value reflects in the Jita price. As there is demand for it from exporters.
Named Kernite or compressed is useless for this purpose so decreases in value.
