Why was Freelance Jobs designed to be trash?

Hear me out, go and examine this “content” in the game and you’ll see that 95% of the jobs listed are just, simply put, low ball market orders designed to scam new players who don’t realize they could sell to a market hub.

What is the point?

Why was the market designed to be trash?

Hear me out, go and examine the available offers in the game and you’ll see that 95% of the remaining listed buy and sell orders are just, simply put, low ball orders designed to scam new players who don’t realize they could sell or buy for better prices at another place or location.

What is the point?

Thats not true at all lol. A lot of these “Jobs” are in hubs, next to hubs or are less than the prevailing buy order. I’m looking at one right now that is offering 105 isk for Kernite in Perimeter.. buy orders are 500

Freelance jobs are either scams or slavery.

Why are you judging the freelance job design based on the lowball offers though?

As I said, the market too has lowball offers that are practically scams, yet the market is still invaluable to the game because of it’s useful offers.

Scams are a legitimate part of EVE and it’s setting, so it isn’t enough either to call a system trash just because ‘it enables scams’.

I’d only agree with you that something is trash if it only supports scams and no legitimate gameplay. But I have yet to see signs that that is the case for freelance jobs.

So here’s a question:

Is absolutely nobody setting up legitimate freelance jobs ever?

i got scammed on sisi lol.. i bought 1500 plex for 100isk each.. didn’t need the extra 1,000 as i was trying to figure out how to upgrade to omega on sisi.. sold the plex back to dummies for 1 isk each.

Jita local after nuPLEX was introduced and people returned from absence not being aware of the difference buying up all the cheap 1 PLEX for half the monthly price contracts. :eyes:

  :smiling_face_with_horns:

I’ve never seen one, but admittedly I rarely look since when I did they were all poor value.

The market, on the other hand, mostly responds to supply and demand. In other words, it’s a market, where freelance jobs seem to have taken the worst elements of the gig economy.

Why are Eve Forum posts trash?

Hear me out, go and examine the “posts” in these forums and you’ll see that 95% of the complaints are just, simply put, poorly articulated whining offering no actionable criticism about what’s wrong with it or how it could be improved.

What is the point?

Freelance jobs are the typical CCP feature: poorly thought out, poorly implemented, poorly maintained, poorly moderated, poorly developed further, poorly expanded upon, poorly used, poorly usable in the first place.

How can lowball market orders be scams? If the sell price is low, you get a bargain. If the buy price is low, you don’t sell to them and to sell orders instead.

Remember “Set it and forget it”? This is CCP’s official stance about the market because market PVP like one-isking and the likes are toxic PVP that disadvantages newbs. If you think that buy orders are too cheap compared to the sell order price and if the game tells you that it’s way under value, you don’t sell to BO but create your own SO and just wait. CCP approved method.

I have not seen orders where selling on the market wouldn’t give you a better deal.

And often disguised as “think of the newbros” suggestions which only actually benefit a niche veteran playstyle, coinciding with the one the player suggesting the change(s) falls under.

so, market was also designed to be trash, because its being used by scammers??? What about contracts? XD You need to open your eyes and turn your brains on, its a pvp game on all levels. Its on you to be vigilant and careful what you do and which contracts you accept.

Sure. I have seen projects in Freeport Wormholes where people could throw PI stuff, mined gas, ore or blueloot in for like 90% of the Jita price to enable them to skip the hauling effort.

Thats absolutely fair and a great service for newbros who can’t fly BRs or DSTs.
