Game-wide default general chats in my experience are vile toxic places of slurs and spam at a rate even moderation cannot keep up.
You only need one or two bad apples to make a chat awful, and if you put thousands of people in the same chat thatās a near guarantee.
In EVE Rookie help as a game-wide chat occasionally gets close to that when thereās a new troll, but has the benefit that itās often moderated and is about a strict topic which limits the problem somewhat.
Games with game-wide general chats have a major flaw with that chat which encourages the idea that the game is to be played by edgy teens and like-minded people who all see it like a challenge to be edgier than the previous one while they try to see how far they can go to shock the huge audience the game has so easily provided them before they catch a warning, mute or ban.
Most sane people would quickly leave such a chat, resulting in a positive feedback cycle with negative results where the only participating players in such a chat enjoy this toxic spam of slurs:
Every new player is then automatically joining this chat and greeted by a wall of text posted by the lowest of the low, which suggests to them this is ānormalā in that game as some sort of the worst first impression you could give them in a game.

If you wish to chat, why not join a group of players or one of the chat channels made by players about a topic you like?
Or you could chat in local, I hear Jita is usually crowded.

The closest we have to a general chat is probably Jita local and look how bad that is.

Jita local chat is what you want. I propose you to go there, live there and enjoy general chat with other players.
Moderated or not Moderated? That is the question.
Nothing prevents a player from starting their own general EVE verse chat.
You could have a chat for these so-called āvileā āhorribleā ālow lifeā people who like things like femboys and having fun and being happy.

@Sara_Seraph and theres no way to find other players player-made chat channels. you have to get a invite personally from someone already in it, orelse you never get in. theres no player-made chat channel browser or discovery.

But frankly I donāt think the game should facilitate you a game-wide audience to listen to femboy chat by default either. Itās not really game-related, is it?
Why not make your own general femboy chat and advertise it in local chat, discord, this forum, your alliance and elsewhere if you wish to discuss such topics in an in-game chat?

Whilst I guess this is strictly true you can just type the name of a channel in, and join it if it is public, thus itās quite easy to advertise a channel anywhere.
if you know the name of the channel you can join itā¦ like haulers channel, people can join it.. z-s overview, people can join it, gankers channel etcā¦ if you know the name, you can join it without having to be invited if its a public channel..
that requires you to already know about it in the first place. it is impossible to find out what channels exist and what channels dont exist.
and chat channels in video games always end up turning into something unrelated to the game, so why not just remove chat channels completely and get people to play the game? humans can not control themselves and will always talk about non-eve things in eve online if it continues to have chatrooms. thats how socializing works. humans are a social animal and will talk about random stuff.
its better to remove the ability to type, and instead only be able to say pre-made phrases and sentences. Like go into a menu and only be able to say the things listed there, like āI need repairs!ā or āHello there!ā
Humans will want to socialize about things unrelated to eve in eve chatrooms. Besides, if people dont socialize in eve, they wont socialize anywhere. Video games are one of the only places to socialize. Real life social interaction does not exist, and if it does, its in under-developed countries that are too poor to get computers.

Nobody (besides you now) is suggesting removal of all chat channels, or saying that off-topic chat should not be in the game.
What I said earlier is that players should not join such a chat channel by default, but I did not say itās bad for the game if such a chat channel exists at all.
Go make one!
This is patently false.
To find out if a channel doesnāt exist all you need do is try to join it.
The same if it does.
Sure there is no convenient complete list out there, but there are many channels which are advertised in many places, so it isnāt even impossible to find a partial list using a web search engine.
You seem to have confused āimpossibleā with āisnāt served up to me on a plate with garnishā
