As I said, it works for me. I need no laws to limit my actions, because my actions will never be to cause harm. I don’t drink and drive, I won’t rob someone, ■■■■ if I find someone’s wallet I’ll take the extra step to try and get it back to them. I’m not a predator. I’m happy with the idea of tolls on the things I use to finance them (roads for example, I use them so I’m fine paying to build and maintain them).
If people choose to not educate their children, that’s kind of on them for setting their kids up for failure. My son will be attending post secondary (it’s his choice, but there will be consequences if he chooses not to), I’ve a sizable education fund built up for him and he’s not even out of primary school yet. As for educated decisions for voting… we already have people with the intelligence level of cows pressing for what they want in a democratic forum.

meh I have to goto the hardware store… because we live in a world that has societies so we can have free time to do other stuff then cut wood and milk cows daily

#firstworldproblems We complain when we pay for a GAME (hobby or community group at best) and we are inconvenienced for a few hours… sigh. We would all be a bit happier to remind ourselves how fortunate we are that MOST of the time the buttons we press and switches we flip do what they’re supposed to.

I think you have to purchase insurance to cover power outages. The electric companies won’t just pay you. Maybe we need outage insurance for Eve Online?

I’ve flown to another state to do some climbing, unexpected weather rolled in, and we were forced to come home early. Wish I could have gotten reimbursed for that!
Had you paid for the trip via a recognized company that specializes in climbing tours - You could have sought compensation, as a paying customer you have rights.
