2018/03/20 - Unscheduled Downtime Extension

… yeah that’s happened before too. Only got reimbursed when they cancelled one of my flights for the next day. That would be like CCP keeping us from the game for a whole month…

so when an airline or phone company shuts down for a few hours its not the same thing when they compensate you and a lot times they wont unless you say something

WoW players have to dunk 50$ each time a new expansion comes out plus no way to make in game money. I think we got it okay too

Haha, believe me. I say something EVERYTIME (never get something you don’t ask for). BUT, even a few hours of delay does not usually get anyone a reimbursement. It’s just part of the experience… and in THAT case I only occasionally get an “upgrade”. In EVE, we about to get some actual useful improvements.

“Free to play”? Give me a break. Alpha is extremely limited and is just a tease to convince you to go Omega. This is a pay to play game; people who pay for a service have a right to complain when they don’t get it. Considering you can’t anchor a station as an Alpha, you know your point is invalid. In the corporate world, every hour of downtime is lost money and potential. If the IT service providing the support causes the problem, there is a reason WHY IT companies are insured, as they often have to offer compensation if they screw up.

As a separate but related issue for no apparent reason, my 7 Guardian Angel Cerebral accelerators expired early, right when they patched last night. WTF does a booster expiration date have to do with a chat system upgrade? Across the board, there are completely outrageous things happening to people’s accounts. They should have patched ONLY the chat system and left any other changes for another patch. This was definitely a case of them taking on more than they should have, and now 13000-20000 people cant access what a majority of them have paid for.

Let people complain. It helps to settle nerves by blowing off steam. I’ve been playing since July 2003, and there is nothing new about CCP messing up a patch, or with people complaining about it. If it wasn’t a great game, we wouldn’t be playing it or bitching about our ability to use and access it. In that sense though, CCP is failing to provide access to this PAID game we all enjoy when they push the limits of their patches.

yea i thought that because i try to conect since few minutes and the conection losse … I wait for resolve… thanks.

Guessing you weren’t around for boot.ini or incarna then

when an airline cancels a flight, you are out $50-$500+

When the phone company has an outage, you are losing access to a critical service.

This is a game people. $20 a month / 30 days per monthly sub/PLEX = $0.50 per day.

Deal with it.

No offense to you Falcon, you are still the only Dev worth his weight in gold.

I would be mad, but now it’s amusing. Hope the new 3rd party (Amazon?) hosted chat never works. Spreading services outside CCP servers makes EVE so much more vulnerable to collapse. Reset it all back to the way it was yesterday and call it a day. At least then EVE will be working.

For future reference with changes. SMALL BABY STEPS! Don’t bite off more than you can fix when it all goes to hell.
