Other MMORPGs have had it done, WoW especially. CCP hasnāt really been targeted much before that I can remember in 12 years of playing. More a symptom of society. If you have any sort of computing skills it is fairly straightforward to launch a denial of service attack. If it isnāt a hacking group looking to get billing info then itās far more likely to be a lone stoner at a loose end.

donāt worry sheba, a ddos attack is not something used to steal information. information gets stolen through hidden remote access software, you canāt access anything if you are DDOSāing your target as you are killing iāts internet connection in doing so.

Pretty much, I had my 2 chars logged in. One took 10 mins to disconnect so very probably
ddos like this is typically done out of anger towards an entity, perhaps someone felt like they were ripped off in 1 way or another
