They may have tried having the kids fix it, but it does appear they hired siteprotect.neustar as of at least 48hrs ago.
Traffic is being routed through their servers.

4 days and i still either can’t log in or its lag central when i do.Is ccp asleep over there?

I’m having no issues. And to all those people whining about not getting their skillspree and complaining that it isnt fair and demanding compensation to ā€œlevel the fieldā€ just remeber there are accounts over a decade old. You will never catch up to them no matter how many skillsprees you do. Eve isnt a game thats played on a level field. If you want that go play soccer or something and stop bitching at ccp. Its in their best intrests to figuer this mess out and you threating to quit or unsub isnt gonna speed them up any faster. So just shut up, play something else for a few days and check in later. And if your really that upset ā€œCan I have your stuff?ā€

Any updates on the chat servers. I dont mind the blackout for local but corp chat etc back would be nice :slight_smile:

Ok - I’ve been understanding. I’ve been empathetic. I have even felt like donating Pizza and Coffee to the techs who have to figure this mess out. Now I’m simply pissed off. I pay 30 USD a month for this experience. Be even worse if I had to grind for plex and this was occurring. WTH is going on. Never seen this ā– ā– ā– ā–  in the past - and for EVE’s sake I hope it never occurs again. I know they have recruited the best - but the said intent of this attack is happening:

Is actually occurring. That’s a quote from the company that’s helping CCP. This attack is definitely having that effect. Again I ask for more communication b/c the assholes that are doing this have achieved that. Yes I’m going thru withdrawls - been playing this ā– ā– ā– ā–  consistently for a long damn time. No matter what peeps say - EVE is real.

Tell us what the ā– ā– ā– ā–  is going on - and when we can reasonably expect this ā– ā– ā– ā–  to end.

Considering the age of Eve and the recent change of ownership:

Could it be possible that CCP has manufactured this entire situation by hiring a penetration testing company to identify weaknesses within the Eve servers?

While I do not disagree that a public release statement to the effect of what’s happening and estimates on time to repair or if they even have an idea of when they may be able to counter this, would be expected, especially from a professional company that charges a fee, etc etc etc…
I too have been playing EvE consistently for well over ten years…I get where you are coming from.
On the one hand, I want to keep to my routine and there is much I feel I need to be doing for my alliance etc…
On the other hand, all of us could probably use a short break. : )
I get to have a little down time of my own and know I am not neglecting anything. Not letting my friends down etc.
Order a pizza and have a beer and read the forums…think about the asshat who is doing the attack and know that when it’s over and he has had his fun, I’ll simply go back to what I was doing and have my fun and he will not have ā€˜won’ as far as I am concerned.
I won’t let him have that satisfaction.
I hope that they catch them and they are able to see from thier jail cell, the server online stats over 30k users … LOL
I’m not going to let them drive me away from EvE. It has too much to offer that I really do enjoy.
I’ll be in game long after this attack is ancient history.

Any news about the connection issues? been 5 days now for me and I still can’t play. When i put a ticket in I am told they are working on it or the problem is fixed they are working on the chat issue but I can still not log on or I get on then dc

Yes - I’ll be playing 2… Oh wait - if I can play… Key word being play. Hmmm - atm doesn’t seem like a… Ok Copper I will take your corner and will be patient and await being actually able to play Eve. I will refrain from further commentary in hopes that time is on our side. I don’t think it is - but alas, I will wait in the galleries.

Lots to read in the forums…Yes they are working on fixes. They have hired a third party network security company to help.
It will be a while before they return to ā€˜normal’.
Give them a few more days.
I’m certain they will come up with something reasonable to help smooth over the frustrations. A free month of Omega or something. Who knows.

I hope so because five days is already a lot of time. I just wish they had some more communication I mean on twitter status they don’t say much really any where.

Not to panic anyone, I honestly feel that it may be another full week before the impact is settled and the security holes plugged etc…
Over 16 years…what’s 2 weeks in the big picture.
Not much really.
I’m OK with it as long as they don’t give up, throw in the towel and say screw it, Game Over, Thanks for Playing.

Ya I want them to fix it but they should say something I think. and that much time when you have more than one account that does cost alot and alot of loss in game

I agree, they need to make a statement.

I suggest that if you wish to have a statement made, email CCP directly.

Keep it simple and do not make the email personal or a complaint letter.
Simply ask for a public announcement.

Suggest something in the launcher and not Twitter so people like ā€˜Copper Rei’ who don’t use Twitter or Facebook or any other social media will see it upon attempting to log in.
