Or a release engineer would revert tranquility to last week’s one, which probably would take him a matter of minutes, and then discuss what went wrong with the devs when they’re back on monday.
Though if it was that simple, they would probably also have noticed the upcoming problem when they did a test run on singularity, after they also had their automated tests for the chat integration fail…
Why don’t you adapt ircd-ratbox? Just one instance will be able to carry all the chat traffic of the game and you can add as many redundancies as you wish. Reinventing the wheel has the disadvantage of bringing the current embarrassment where a 20-years old game cannot sort out basic chat functionalities.
How can a chat system in MMO game be broken for days? I’m paying 45 euro per month for this ■■■■. What is happening to my omega/plex money, do you buy new cars for the CEO instead of paying the programmers?
I feel baited… I thought he or any other dev finally said something, anything. I can’t speak for the others here, but I wouldn’t be so mad if they were saying anything.
You clearly have Reading skilled to LVL1, as they do advise more than this. You picking apart one part of the post that was updated after that.
“We will next update you on the progress of solving this problem when there is more information that can be shared.”
Was the last update, and whilst its the weekend and we “Should” have been given some update by now and the lack of communication is poor, keeping your expectations low will make you NOT be disappointed when they dont do something.
It sucks, it means you cant play well (me included) but what can you do? Wait patiently is the reality and try to play with what we got. CCP sadly is known for this stuff. Not sure why anyone is surprised.
March 2018. They say 3 days? Can see it coming to the boil in the known issues thread for the past 3 weeks. Not offering advice to professional developers who know their stuff, more like placing a bet on a cane toad race as one of the unwashed crowd but I’m going with ejabberd sql_pool_size!
This is why I am trying to convince people to vote with their wallets.
I love this game dearly, and I would hate it to die. Unfortunately, since Seagull left it’s felt like Eve has been in pretty bad shape. Good people work at CCP, people who I assume truly care about the game, but at this point, management needs a wake-up call. I just hope it isn’t too little too late.
