Well, if one assumes TQ couldn’t possibly be struggling to provide consistent room membership data to the chat service without dropping updates, it could probably handle broadcasting said data directly to players, too.

CCP’s radio silence is an interesting choice.
If they just acknowledged that it is an ongoing problem and that they are working on it it would go a long way.
They don’t even have to offer estimates or explanations at this point.

I have lost all chats. I’m not sure when all this will be fixed but what a pain not being able to talk to corpmates and alliance.
Lottery every time you log in. Chat will work or not… This is ■■■■■■■ ridiculous. I expect compensation for this shitstorm.

Hello! I just logged in to beg CCP to revert the changes back to the old chat system. It is obvious this is not working. It has been what 2- 3 days. I am tired of waiting not being able to play the way i like to play, the way i paid to play the game. So please CCP revert the changes back and try fixing the chat system on the test server on your own time and money and not ours.

I will continue to be a clown and abuse CCP. I no longer use my hard earned cash to play this game because the game doesn’t work. I now consider my cash to be used to abuse a company that doesn’t care about is customers. This way I don’t feel that my money is being wasted.

Quite the opposite actually. Gankers rely on local to tell them whether there’s something worth of their attention in the solar system or it’s just as empty as 99% of the nulls tend to be, and they can just move on, but local will tell them nothing right now.
Assuming they noticed you mining even w/o local, they would usually fly in with a bomber or ceptor that can quickly close in on your ship, tackle it, and provide the other fleet members with a warp in on your location, then spike local and fleet warp the DPS ships on the tackle… which they can’t because fleet chat is just as broken as local chat is, and will deny them of the ability to use fleet warp, so they’ll all have to warp to the warp in beacon, which might be quite inefficient depending on what they’re using and how far your mining ship has been displaced from the warp-in beacon.
Ah, I forgot we don’t do ganking any more these days, we just BLOPS, and filament the whole fleet in a click straight on the target.
not quite right. while you can safely mine even under current conditions, roaming fleets can use the sov tab to see changes in the industry index of systems and determine someone must be mining there. Then all it takes is a force recon to scout out where the mining exactly takes place and you got a quick warp in. Keep your miners aligned and watch dscan, you should still be able to escape though
the eve way of resolving the issue of cause would be to have an alt sitting on each stargate of the system you’re mining in, and another alt sitting on each stargate in adjacent systems.

It took 1,5 hour (!) for my chat to go online in at least somewhat usable state. Local still not working. Definitely not the thing I expect. Guys, there are companies like Facebook that are able to supply chat rooms properly for much more customers, it’s not that hard. Srsly think about it and next time test the changes (including load tests) on other environments than production. I am saying this as a DevOps guy with some experience…

Do we think we can get an update on the current broken state of the game? I would have loved to be playing for the last five days. I logged in this morning, and it took like 10 mins for my account to come up. You all feed the hamster?
Sure chat isnt working, doesnt mean the game is broken. Plenty of folks still logging in cause work needs to be done and isk made.

You use fleet chat to warp to a fleet member? Why? That don’t make sense to me. Use the fleet window directly. You don’t need chat at all.
