I hope you also share what issues caused these chat problems so that we players have a reference for the future when these issues inevitably happen again.
In this universe and reality. See Blackout as impressive example for their intention to drive customers away for the most bizarre reasons.

The people complaining about not being able to play without local are people who will dock the moment anyone enters system (or gets reported on intel multiple jumps away) anyway, so on the balance of things its the same amount of people to shoot at

Generalisations are like assholes, everybody has/makes them and they all stink.
However, even the “boring crabs” as they were called in another thread are essential to the Eve Online economy. Some players like to engage in PVP, and others want to mine or make things. They all depend on each other, and they also depend on people who generate wealth which they then use to buy things. If the economy stalls because the population of the game gets lower, not only will you have less people to shoot, but ou wont have any weapons or ships to buy
Considering without functioning chat channels, including fleet/corp/alliance, it becomes incredibly difficult to arrange any kind of fleet to play the game beyond going solo I would say plenty of people lost plenty of time that they paid to be able to play the game.
If you order a pizza and it doesn’t arrive until 6 days later, do you still expect to pay for it?
If local was the only thing affected it wouldn’t be as major of a problem. Try organizing a 100 man fleet when you have to have everyone mail you just to be able to have a working link to add them to it, because your X up channel/corp/alliance have all ■■■■ the bed.

Aye that part is a legitimate complaint I agree with you there, a big proportion of the people complaining are ones that literally refuse to undock though
Perhaps, but plenty of us were undocking and having a miserable time of it. I was trying to fly in fleets where we only had an external voice chat, we rely on MOTDs a lot for what we do, we also have a guy in the group who is mute and had no way to talk to us.
As @Lord_Kalus said, local would have been one thing but this was the entire instant communication system.
The better analogy might be that you ordered a combo from the pizza place but only part of it arrived

Customer care in the form of a mass reply to the chat issues. Not our fault and if you loss anything, your fault for relying on a game feature provided by a 20 year old game.

I’ve lost a hulk with expensive modules, due to gankers, while chat "have problems.
And the reply to ticket is that???
Idk, but imho, it’s a really strange that:
_chat not working
_massive gankers appear
_police not comings
_no reimbursement (with one of the most demential reply I’ve read).
What stupid ticket answer from CCP. The chat system is part of the game. Doesn’t matter if they like it or not. CCP is screwing it up and then denial it.
