How can they disappoint and underachieve when they have set expectations at “you can log in and collect daily rewards” : shrug :
Compensation, when?
None that are generating revenue. Though… with CCP only showing a ‘Total Comprehensive Income’ for 2022 of $673,057 out of $68,599,966 in total revenue (and that total income only because of the changes in value of assets held in non-USD currencies)… EVE’s not, either.
Yea, this is enlightening. There is a lot more to what a company does with their money than what most here are trying to say. So I am glad you shared that financial report here. I still would like to know what happened over the weekend and why it was so silent during that time.
Blame Eurovision
Sorry but I cut my first code in 1971, the last system I worked on was an Air Traffic Control system which is over 40 years old. I’m not looking from the outside in. Software Engineering is a science no longer an art form.
The rules have always been if you don’t understand it then don’t change it. In other words learn your system. Don’t make the excuse of " I didn’t know what I was doing so don’t blame me" when it goes wrong.
If you can’t do this as a basic function then quit and pick another job.
Plus stop making excuses for developers I’ve seen hundreds over the last 50 years, good and bad and those that rely on guesswork are always the bad.
Finland was robbed. And Moldava’s floutist deserved better.
We are still keeping this issue marked as ongoing for now until we are satisfied that it remains stable in the long term.
I strongly will state that shouldn’t be CCP’s decision.

Grimstone Antollare Software development for infrastructure on a legacy system that must be reliable for the safety of human life is much different than a video game engine that must constantly improve to take advantage of new technologies within the industry and has to run on multiple different hardware. There is a huge difference between Air Traffic Control and Video Game Engines. You can go with the “If it isn’t broke, leave it alone.” mentality easily in ATC. Within VGE, there is no way you can do that. “What does this legacy code for POS do?” “I am not sure; let’s try to figure it out.” 2 years later, “We still haven’t made progress on fixing the POS issue.” “Well, it is about time to replace it.” “But when we do, other things break.” “Why?” “I don’t know; it is a mess of spaghetti code!” “Then replace it with something better.” It would be best to make EVE 2.0, scrapping what they have and creating a whole new game, but if they do, all of the stuff that was done over the past 20 years in the game will go away. I can’t do that. I can’t do anything because it works. You got to keep improving, keep adapting, keep changing. If a part of the engine is unknown, it must be replaced to be updated with the new stuff. Like new graphic engines and techniques, new AI systems for smarter NPC behavior, and new features for players to experience. All of this stuff does not exist for Air Traffic Control. One type of developer is different from other types of developers. And with the new technologies, you can’t know everything. There will be learning, guessing, testing, tinkering, twerking, experimenting, etc.
I have to agree with @Sav_Kora here about keeping this open @CCP_Paragon. Currently, I am running three clients, and all three have different numbers in “Rookie Help” among other differences within the chat. So the chat servers are still not working as it should. Local might be more accurate, but there are still issues here, too (though minor in comparison).
Hmm, I am not convinced this is resolved. My corp chat still indicates I have a toon online that has not been online today nor is online. Whilst local certainly seems more responsive overall I have issues trusting its actually “fixed”.
Edit: In fact my channel for all my toons, shows it online now but corp offline. So yeah, its still broken.
great work team now can we get them Social skills trained to 5 as a compensation?
Hey bud. Not whining or staying docked here, but I do think it’s a bit of a stretch to suggest that an always-on MMO developer can’t put one single community Dev on an on-call over the weekend for Comms around stuff like this.
Hell, it’d be cash money - do your whatever, keep up to date with slack, pop a sentence or two up every few hours.
Not worth debating the terminally online eve player. A lot of these people have nothing left. This is why CCP just laughs at you all in the break room. You can’t quit and never will. Keep shoving over $20 or slave away farming isk.
are you ok?
Do you need someone to talk to?
There are a lot of good and caring individuals here.
I’ve got a 25% Glamoreaux booster I’ll let him have…
Thank you CCP for making the repairs, under pressure and over the weekend
Thank you, CCP!
I suggest you ignore all the calls for compensation, it’s not necessary, and maybe some of the whiners will actually quit.
