22 Accounts. 1 Cheater?

Okay, yes this thread was about something else. Let’s agree to disagree for now.

Which it was all along. Look around in the thread, it’s the same people as always who cry about ganking. It’s another attempt to produce an outrage against a player or playstile they have something against in the hope that CCP removes their in-game enemies.

As always this is nothing else than a monument to the elite PvP skills of New Order Agents and a testament to the complete and utter failing of anti-ganking who where probably too busy moaning about how unfair the game is and how CCP should help them than to actually try to save the freighter.

It’s quite possible. I have to admit that I try to avoid the ganking vs. anti-ganking discussion, as it seems completely obsolete and artificial. Ganking is part of the game and that’s it. In a bunch of posts here I got the impression that there’s some kind of history of tensions between a number of players. I couldn’t say wether it is willingly from all sides involved or not, but it seems to be one if not the most important part of the forum meta.

So I’m not overly receptible for the finer tones in that discussion. CCP will not remove ganking. The reason I took part in this thread at all, was due to the (for me) interesting question of manual capabilities. Of course there will always be people who try to turn every piece of information into something that fits their own belief. You can argue against it, but in the end there is not much one can do against people having already made up their minds. Many people, maybe all of us, have this challenge. Some less, some more. I don’t like to subordinate my own questions under their logic of friend and enemy, because then I can’t follow my curiosity.

Little edit here: The above means, I know that there will be people who use my thoughts/research about maximum manual actions per second and put it into their pre-fixed belief that gankers are cheating. Now I could choose to not take part in the discussion in the attempt to avoid being used by such, but should we really stop using reason just because sometimes unreasonable people will abuse reason because it accidentally fits into their theories? I think not.

So I understand that from your perspective, and maybe most other peoples here, this is just another thread in a possibly year old history of ganking vs. anti-ganking, but for me it was the curiosity about a simple question. I’m kind of content with what I learned in the process and now I’m getting the fck out of here, because ganking will remain and even saying this seems obsolete since it’s so clear.

This thread should have ended at a report. CCP has the logs with timers attached and they’re the ones who ultimately decide if someone is guilty. Make no mistake of believing you are in any way a Jury.

Do you honestly think that @Australian_Excellence was never reported? He is likely one of the most reported people in this game. If he was doing something illegal he would have been banned a long time ago.

And now everyone reading this thread has to decide:

  1. You can go the way of reason and deduce that no illegal input automation was involved.
  2. You can go the way of the tinfoil hat and declare that CCP is biased and does not ban the illegal activity of this person for some crazy reason you are free to make up on your own.

His mother is Hilmar’s mother’s father’s brother’s daughter’s uncle Bruce.

Yes I thought about that and indeed it is a compelling argument. Though, for my taste, not enough for a proper deduction. So I choose:
3. There was nothing brought up about that specific player that convinces me about any input automation. It’s also not my job as a player to make up my mind based on information I don’t have access to. I choose to say that I can’t know and since I don’t have a special interest ihere, I’m not looking to know. I deduce that controversial discussions can be a good place to learn something new, if I want to.

So is his mother Hilmar’s grandfather Bruce? And if so, is he Hilmars father or uncle?

That all depends on whether or not Uncle Bruce hails from the paternal or maternal bloodline. Alternatively Hilmar is from Arkansas.

As in… sometimes father and uncle is the same thing?

You’d have to ask an American, here we’d say stuff like that is normal for Norfolk

I looked at a set of logs that I had from a JF gank, I explored what I had with the intention to find out whether there was any cheating or not with the logs I had following the OP’s suggestion of cheating. Having explored this suggestion with a number of people, some reasonable and some unreasonable, I have come to the conclusion that the logs I have indicate that the gank on my alliance mate was highly likely to be legit manual gameplay.

It is a pity that so many people are unable to discuss and develop understanding on such things without letting their egos get in the way of it.

I have to say that ganking is part of the game as often as I can because I keep having people tell me that I want to end ganking, which is laughable…

And if anyone wants the logs I have in my possession send me an evemail.
