Hello,
I’d like to make a few suggestions.
I apologize in advance if this isn’t the right place, and if so, I hope you’ll be willing to pass them on.
Here we go:
It would be really nice to review the design of the stations in trade hubs other than Jita. Even though they’re secondary locations, they have a certain importance and activity, particularly Dodixie, Rens, and Amarr, and to a lesser extent, Oursulaert, Hek, and Tash-Murkon. Without making them as flashy as Jita, I think it’s largely possible to do something about it.
I noticed that the Concord HQ station (Yulai IX (Kjarval) Concord office) was partially in ruins. Why? It’s Concord after all. A little renovation is overdue, right?
In my opinion, there’s a missing type of ship in the Marauder class. We need one specialized in drones, which instead of seeing its turret damage increased would see its bandwidth capacity and the number of drones it can deploy simultaneously increased.
The drone damage types don’t seem consistent to me either. Why aren’t they modeled on each faction’s primary weapon type? The gecko does all four damage types (it’s also overpriced ^^), so why are Amarr drones only UV lamps, Gallente drones flamethrowers, Caldari drones slingshots, and Minmatar drones firecracker launchers? How sad.
Today (and for a long time) Eve is clearly a game focused on Null Sec activities, but this is not consistent with the game’s own history. Why and how would the four major factions have developed primarily in HS and LS if there weren’t a lot of wealth to exploit, trade, and share? Conversely, given the respective military powers of the four major factions, why wouldn’t they have long sought to annex and integrate these spaces into their own if they were so rich and promising? Admit it, it’s a bit inconsistent.
It’s also unfortunately not very encouraging for players who don’t want to/can’t go to NS or even LS, or engage in high-difficulty or long-term activities, whether in a group or alone (regardless of their reasons and motivations), and it also shows little consideration for them. Raising the ISK rewards from PVE agent missions would seem to me to be a welcome and necessary foundation for them, allowing them to get started a little more easily.
Trade hub stations should totally be upgraded for each faction.
Cocord is cheap/broke af.
We should get a t2 BS that is a drone boat, it can seige to increase drone bandwidth, damage and hp along with whatever else and give each race a unique drone abilty like cal=ecm, gal=repair, min=web, amarr=ev. But, first i think we need a t2 bs class to make use of that third unused bs. My Hyperion needs an upgrade.
Im not sure whats wrong with the drones damage types. They all make sense for their racial damge profiles and the navy drones have a secondary damage type. I think drone damage types are fine. Now we need pirate drones that deal 3 types of damage.
Im not to brushed up on the lore, but the empires could only hold so much space. It is stupid that they live in the least profitable parts of discovered space. But now the players own the lawless space. And LS is just the great in between, with NPC stations for permanent living and better quality content rewards along with more pvp interactions. HS living under the concord umbrella is a great place to get started and learn the ropes before venturing out into the riskier and more rewarding spaces. HS also contains most of the events that take place. But in all honesty, a new player only needs to join one of the big NS groups for the first bit to learn to farm and make dank ISK while they figure out what activities it is they really want to do. Or fly in wormholes like a boss!
High sec is profitable for the Empires, we just don’t see it due to game balance. I think of it as the Empires have already sucked all the good stuff and only let capsuleers have the “scraps”. (Plenty of people argue that High sec is just as profitable as null btw).
The empires have expanded (Caldari took a constellation in Syndicate a few years ago), built a few gates, took some drifter hives, etc.
I’d love to see more unique station designs for the major hubs in other parts of space! I can imagine it’s a lot of work that doesn’t impact as many players as a Jita or Upwell structure update though.
Sounds interesting, I never saw that before! Why should a unique station that’s partially in ruins become another boring ‘renovated’ station and look like the rest of the default stations? I like that some stations look unique, I feel like this suggestion is in contradiction with your first one.
Could be fun! I don’t know how well a varying bandwidth would function though, what happens if your bastion cycle ends and those extra drones are still in space? Would you automatically abandon half of them?
Drone damage types are consistent with how every empire has it’s own specialization in one of the damage types. Not only does each faction have a primary weapon, they all have a primary damage type as well (which doesn’t always align with their primary weapon). For example Caldari has ships bonused for specifically kinetic damage, or look at the types of bombs and torpedos each faction’s bomber is bonused for! Drones follow the exact same pattern, which seems good and consistent to me.
And about the last point:
There is a lot of wealth to exploit, trade and share in high security space, which is exactly why the main factions live there.
We are no major NPCs though, we’re capsuleers. For us capsuleers it’s much more profitable to live outside the relative safety of NPC-patrolled space and forge our own empires in other areas.
NPCs will pay you a little to do some chores in high security space, but they’ll pay you far more to deal with pirates where those pirates live: outside HS. Take some risk to make more ISK!
I dont think we need a drone based marauder, I think we just need to make Rattlesnakes cheaper. Its already a highly tanked powerhouse of a drone ship.
