A Benevolent Association for the Hands That Hold the Cluster Together

GALLOWS SHIFT

Benevolent Association

To the haulers, the refinery crews, the colony hands —
and every capsuleer who remembers what it was to work for a wage.

My name is Cassian Tharvak.

Before I had a pod, I had a shift. I hauled ore that wasn’t mine, through stations I couldn’t afford to dock in, for owners whose names I never learned. I watched good people break their backs and lose their berths for the crime of growing tired.

Capsuleers forget that. We are told we are above it now.

I don’t believe that. And I don’t believe I’m the only one.

WHAT WE KEEP

Gallows Shift is a benevolent association for those who still carry the shift with them.

  • The Widows’ Fund — for the families of those who do not come home
  • Injury Relief — for hulls lost and hands broken in honest work
  • A Berth Between Contracts — for any worker with nowhere to dock

We ask nothing of the companies. We expect nothing from them.

WHERE WE STAND

We stand with the Republic, whose people know better than anyone what it costs when one man owns another’s labor.

I serve in the Tribal Liberation Force. Some of our members may choose to do the same. The association itself bows to no flag.

THE DOOR IS OPEN

If you work, or once worked, and you’re tired of being counted as overhead — find me.

The night shift is long.
It’s better with company.
