You don’t understand loyalty or an oath.
I do. I just don’t subscribe to following bad leaders. Or orders.
Usually these things hinge on honor, as a personal construct. And if you are following someone who forces you to do dishonorable things because your service prevents a greater harm to the innocent, then ultimately, that is an honorable pursuit. You are a sin-eater in that cause, a sacrificial calf.
If, however, you are serving someone who is themselves dishonorable, and you honor your oaths only because those oaths exist, then that is not honorable. It is craven. The course of honor in that scenario becomes the sacrifice of one’s personal honor in order to oppose the dishonorable ruler.
And loyalty, Lord Crases, often means being willing to tell the person to whom you are loyal ‘you are wrong, this decision is bad, and you should reconsider’. A man who lets those to whom he is loyal do things that will, in the end, hurt them or their charges… is not loyal, he’s simply too weak to dissent.
He did. Ask him about how well did that go.
No, he whined. Once. And was laughed at.
Then he fell into line.
He pulled a lot of strings to get an audience with Farokh, who doesn’t exactly have regular visitor hours. He presented his case the best he could. He made an earnest attempt to help stymie the Kahah disaster. He failed, but not for the lack of trying.
Neither was this the only thing he tried. Some of them were even reasonably successful at saving human lives.
Of course, that was all before he decided to jump off the deep end and take what remained of Aegis Militia’s good name with him. But to call his one attempt to set things right “whining” is just petty.
Don’t let the cybernetic arm and leg fool you, I can swim just fine.
You know, I can almost understand. You got frustrated. You wanted to take charge of the situation. Do something that mattered.
…do be careful with that swim, Lord Crases. It would appear that it is taking you dangerously close to crush depth.
You are a good friend, I will try.
There are two servants here that should be holding their tongues.
First, Alizabeth, stick to doing what you do best - killing. Leave policy making to your betters. The next time you have questions or concerns bring them to me before running your mouth all over the Galnet. You shall not return from your exile until I am pleased with what you have wrought.
The next is you, Sa-Baron @Alar_Chakaid .
Your allowing a Blooder to represent your King during the Holy Rites of Succession is a disgrace.
Your part in the handling of the Kahah uprisings is a disgrace.
Your constant derision of faithful Ardishapur subjects is a disgrace.
Now, once Alizabeth has filled Delve to the brim with the dead bodies of heretic Blooders, maybe I should send her hunting somewhere in the Kingdom. Who knows what she could find there?
I just figured she could nip into Khanid through Querious or Aridia every now and again.
lol we’re going to kill you
“They may hide behind honeyed words of faith and loyalty… or they may rave like the ululating heathens they always show themselves to be, but at the core of their being, like a sickness, a canker of the soul, lurks the dark truth: they revel in bloodshed and destruction and will never be truly happy until they rule over a mountain of bones.”
Well, thank you, Sa-Baron! Putting these words of yours in my bio.
You reap what you sow. Any dead Amarr and Khanid are entirely the fault of Damius Khanid, and through him the hands of all Khanid are drenched in blood of countless Minmatar and Amarr alike. And none of you seem to have learned anything from the past.
Which is the most ironic thing - the Amarrr have the vastest, most detailed records of history of any people around, but they still repeat the same mistakes they’ve repeated thousands of times.
Anyway, wasted my time enough already on someone too deep in the cult of personality that the Kingdom and Empire represent.
While we’re on the topic of changing tactics…
Sansha, my man, we need to talk.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Well I’ll say this. Sansha has very loyal followers… diehard, even.
