A more bloodthirsty, fair, and much more fashionable New Eden - Drake Iddon for CSM19

You can do exactly that… If they are perma, you can attack without losing sec status.

paying to repair sec status is no different than a duel or war dec, you are bribing concord to look the other way, or bribing them that you’re gonna be a “good princess” when you actually are not.

My argument is that doing so is far too cheap. Make it half a bil per tag level, and maybe people will think twice about podding Ventures mining veldspar.

doubt

sounds like you were ganked on more than one occasion by the same person and now you want to nerf their playstyle… not cool dude.

Pulling out the ad hominem so soon? Did you forget to bring other ammo types…?

Why else are you pushing for this?

Why are you pushing against it? Would I find a bunch of CONCORD deaths if I looked up your zkill?

Making it half a bil per tag level isn’t really that useful, it would disadvantage the one timers, but people who gank often will simply just swap accounts when their subs lapse, its not exactly hard to spin up a new alt and use the 1m free sp to get (almost ) right back to where you were before

i’ve also clarified my stance on this back in my now edited original reply

Drake is a real playa

No, really, he actually logs in which doesn’t seem to be a requirement for most voters. Vote on ability and vision, not along party lines. Drake will make my recommended ballot, easily.

Fantastic, I’m glad there is someone watching over pochven you will be my first vote.

My only request is to try get more systems into pochven perhaps on the inside of the triangle and maybe add some type of fw to the space.

Personally I would prefer pochven filament’s disapear and in its place have 2 wormholes into poch per system instead of 1, which cuts the scanning time in half. It once took me 2 hours to find one of the gallente entrances of 19 systems - Ichoriya. Not sure how other players would feel about this, but filament’s and teleporting in general makes fleets jump passed each other where direct travel lets fleets bump into each other more often allowing for more combat.

The reason I think FW would be great inside Pochven (3 way, Krai Veles ftw!) is because low sec has the problem of the giant groups that often cyno onto small and medium gang fleets with redeemers(20 at a time) and capital ships with endless escalation which forces players to downship into cruisers and lower. But now in pochven it would allow players to fly anything they freaking want without a worry that they will not get a fight out of it and instead be dunked on by supers if they take out a solo dread.

And the idea of nothing larger than a dread/carrier sounds amazing, kind of like old school eve.

For now I will have to hold off on joining you guys in poch as I cannot make isk there as a solo player but as soon as the smaller sites get buffed or fw gets added, I’ll be there in a flash.

IMO the best way to handle that would be if a player ganks in highsec they loose some faction standings to the race of who ever’s high sec that is.

So gank in caldari space and maybe loose 0.2 caldari faction standings.

This has a dual effect as it will fix the fw own alliance killers at the same time, as they just use a corporation to tank the tiny -10 corp standings.

And trying to fix faction standings is a lot more painful than buying tags, I would just remove security standings all together and just use faction standings to handle everything.

And again this has a dual effect where players in faction warfare lowsec don’t get punished for killing neutral’s inside their plex’s.

Obviously this won’t stop players from rolling ganking alt’s but tbh that’s fine if they are low sp then players should learn and improve their gameplay so they don’t die to a low sp player.
EG:
0 dock bookmarks, insta undocks 500kms inline with undock.
Sig tanking at 90 degrees to arty fire, overheating ab away from catalysts and so on.

Tying things to faction standings does sound like a pretty neat idea.

Essentially mark them as an enemy to the region as if they were part of an opposing faction.

FW needs an update badly in terms of standing/awok abuse.

Yea, the ease at which accounts can just be biomassed and then retrained into new gankers is a slight issue. Though I feel that’s probably too much effort for most people.

I still think the best thing to do would be to just remove the whole clone tag thing entirely.

Another poster suggested replacing/merging the sec status sysytem into faction standing.

Killing someone illegally in Gallente space, for example, would lower your Gallente standings. Go under -5 and you’re marked as an Outlaw when you enter their space.

I don’t think we need to go that far, but it’s certainly an interesting thought.

I would argue that:

  1. Botting is already an issue in certain activities. (Mining, ESS stabbers, Homefront sites)

  2. Eve Echos (to my knowledge) to more F2P than Eve Online is. Which makes it easier to spam accounts.

  3. This argument only holds water if bot accounts are frequent targets of suicide ganks.

I would be entirely okay with high sec getting some ISK faucets cut off, or at least greatly slowed down, in exchange for making it a safer area. Let it be the new player learning area it’s supposed to be.

Then, when they want to start making real bank, they can start dipping their toes into low sec.

Since the player progression is supposed to be:

Highsec - Frigates (New player)
Lowsec - Cruisers (Intermediate)
Nullsec - Battleships (Veteran)

With the rewards going up as danger increases. But right now it’s-

Nullsec - ASAP

Which I argue is a bad thing. Namely due to new players lacking both the personal and account based skills that one is expected to have in that space.

Nullsec ASAP is not, and should not be, part of a brand new player progression as far as i’m concerned, it is something that should be actively avoided for new players so they dont end up in a rut of ratting endlessly

the progression should ideally be:
1: Hisec (missions/mining, npc corp)
2: Lowsec (fw, milita npc corp)
3: then anything they want to try after that and join a player corp/alliance, now they have some assets and money from FW and they have somewhat broken the false presumption that ships are not ultimately expendable at a moments notice

I do not agree with the frigate/cruiser/battleship progression either, although yes that is a consequence of the skill training system, frigates are one of the highest skill requirement ships in the game as far as im concerned, and are a progression end goal in and of themselves

1: it is, but it is no where near as ubiquitous as it is in echoes

2: they have the exact same monetisation system, except echoes also has a pseudo gacha system tacked onto its aurum (plex) currency

3: no it doesn’t, bots exist in homefronts and nullsec but can be hunted relatively easily, and can also be tracked reported and banned. Echoes had the same thing until the hisec security patch, where 99% of all bots flooded hisec, they can no longer be hunted and the sheer number of them protects them against bans simply because people simply gave up reporting, there was no point

i am 100% against the idea of making hisec actually safe, ignoring the fatal effect it would have on the economy; removing anyone’s playstyle simply because you disagree with it is completely antithetical to what EVE is as a game

Would you support the addition of vtuber and anime inspired events to the game including but not limited to anime skins and dating sim inspired progression tree/event? Similar to this post? Reddit - Dive into anything

events absolutely not, unless its specifically about aura because that is part of the game

crossover events are a cheap and extremely lazy marketing gimmick that dilutes the actual lore of the game

custom made skins though? absolutely as long as you pay plex for it

My logic for that argument is that’s how the DED sites are generally laid out. With them being upper gate limited to:

Highsec - Frig to cruisers (T3Cs banned)
Lowsec - cruisers to battleships
Nullsec - Battleships to capitals

From this we can get a sense of where CCP expects players to be in terms of ship access, and I agree with it.

100% against the idea of making hisec actually safe[/quote]

Should we just turn Highsec into Lowsec then? Because I argue the current version of Highsec actually favors gankers in certain ways by giving them perfect safety until they find the ideal target. In the current format getting blown up by CONCORD isn’t a risk. It’s simply the price they pay. One that is accounted and budgeted for.

that’s a pretty extreme and ill-informed idea, turning hisec into lowsec would mean absolutely everyone gets shot all the time, instead of people who are either intentionally sticking out like a sore thumb or are overly blingy, you would simply have almost no chance for new players to get established at all

that would be like saying “we might aswell make GTA games illegal because some people mimic them and commit crimes”, you are taking a small subset of activity in the area and attributing it to absolutely everyone and everything in the area

I am being facetious to a degree by suggesting an absurdity. You werent suppose to take that as being a real suggestion. Apologies if that didn’t come across clearly enough.

On a more serious note at no point did I ever say suicide ganking should be impossible. My argument has always been that it should be possible, but that the current system both too heavily favors the gankers, and that they face no real consequences for their actions.

It’s the equivalent of getting waved down by a cop for going 50 miles over the speed limit in a 40 mph zone, but the ticket is only $5.
