Considering the kind of cynical and militaristic time we live in it’s neat to see someone who considers love truly important, even (maybe “especially”) across national, racial, and cultural borders. I’ve watched the criticism you take over yours, Melisma; I’m impressed at how well you’ve kept your balance. It’s neither stopped nor silenced you, nor caused you to withdraw contact even from the critics.
Allowing people to love who they choose without punishing them or their children is an idea I’m sort of naturally in favor of. I’m not sure I could take the kind of headwinds you’re facing so well, though. You’re an admirably tough person.
