About Bumping

Guys… All of y’all.

EVE is fiction.
The in-game reasons for bumping ships or objects are made up. None are official AFIK. Max isn’t CCP anyone, is he?

Would y’all mind returning to the bumping mechanics topic?

Thanks,
Gadget

You have nothing, except being wrecked over and over.
Even a noob would understand to stop failing as hard as you have, repeatedly, and learn from their mistakes.

You should have stuck with that.
Now you are just a laughing stock, and just making it worse.

Respect is something one earns
And it just so happens that it takes more than shiptoasting to earn mine

So I don’t owe anyone anything

You owe respect to everybody.
Insults are forbidden in the forum.

Well, youve done very little to earn respect per your view on it.

Its amazing how hard you repeatedly faceplant on your own positions, and then refuse to own up to it.

GJ for derailing thread, though.
I suspect that was what you wanted anyways, all along.

Inb4 another response doing exactly the above, plus many emojis.

And what’s your post about?
Not the op as usual

Because you didn’t read it since it required effort…
I agree with op, people need to adapt or die.
Plenty of ways to get around any mechanic in EVE but you bears still find a way to cry because waaaaaaaaa it don’t fit my agenda Lmao

Git gud :joy:

Oh and small edit
I don’t need your respect to live lol
I already have all the respect I need

Saw that coming.

What little, and I mean very little, credibility you had, just went down the drain.

Its clear you are just a troll, and a poor one at that.

Right have fun guys i’m off to fly internetz spaceships, been nice fly safe.

Returning to topic:

I would prefer mechanics of diminishing returns on repeated bumping and/or ramming damage depending on nominal mass and velocity of the two colliding ships, respectively.

On the part of ramming damage model, I think the current bump physics model can largely be translated into damage, as proportional to both rammer and rammed. Ie: The harder a ship gets rammed, causing a bump (of scaling magnitude), the greater/lesser the damage to both vessels, as calculated against the static mass of both ships.

This would emulate, for example, a frigate impacting on a freighter with great velocity, but low nominal mass, causing catastrophic damage to the frigate, very little if any, damage to the freighter, and zero bump.

Ie: It would be like attempting to ram a cargo freighter with a small outboard motorboat. The small motorboat would just splatter/disintegrate on impact, not damage the freighter, nor cause any deviation in its course.

The nominal mass between different ship classes in EVE is quite substantial.

PEGs prevent ramming
You’re welcome

How does a PEG field prevent damage from collision with a non-PEG field asteroid when traveling without warp?

You were talking about ships ramming eachother, which I countered easily with my reply.

And now you’re on again about asteroids…
Lol

Answer the question:

GJ you made me launch the launcher. You totally wrecked me here.

Aka stuff that would give useless server load if implemented. You’re welcome

Same been logged out in space in a fleetphoon, big ouch. Hope it survives.

Targeting range has increased by 28km which is awesome ty CCP

Dude ton’t play his game.
The fact that he does not discuss and instead need to use insults in EVERY of his post should hint you he is suffering from his real life to the point he can only try to troll people on internet forums.

Don’t tell him to change, that may be as well all he has. Just point him when his answer are out of the point, with sympathy, or let him keep his opinion because, actually, you talking here won’t change a thing. You think it will help you to make an aggressive answer in turn, but it won’t. It won’t help him either. You are just wasting your soul. Take a break, grab a cup of tea, look at the sky and consider how small we all are.
